So when can you can aid our brave and seemingly undying protagonist as she fights to save the world within 13 days? Sometime this Autumn (that’s the northern hemisphere’s autumn, my southern hemisphere brethren), or “Faaaawwwwwl”, if you’re one of them yankee types.
Accompanying this announcement is a bunch of shiny screenshots (showing recently-revealed character Lumina, as well as some of Lightning’s questionable wardrobe) and a new trailer. Some of the screenshots are duplicates from the last batch, I don’t know how they got in there, but just enjoy them again because removing them is an absolute chore. Lightning’s on a phone, that’s adorable, everyone should see that more than once.
In true Square Enix fashion the Jump Festa Lightning Returns trailer was leaked early a few days ago, but now the event is in full swing they’ve officially release an extended version of the trailer for all of us to view. The new content shown is much of the same we saw a few days ago, but longer. Watch the trailer below if you want your fill of slightly longer battle scenes and the all important title animation taking place twice in case you missed how flashy it was the first time.
Just about an hour or so ago, Gametrailers.com posted the first official trailer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Unfortunately the trailer has since been taken down as it is most likely that this trailer was only meant to go live once Jump Festa had started. However, thanks to a quick thinking individual it has been uploaded onto YouTube.

Square Enix have revealed their line-up for the upcoming Jump Festa, and among the few titles, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be showing as video-only. We don’t know yet if this will be the gameplay from the reveal, or something new like a Trailer of CG or Gameplay.
The other titles appearing at Jump Festa by Square-Enix are Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX, Dragon Quest VII, Dragon Quest X, and Gyrozetter: Wings of the Albatross.
Check out their webpage for the event here.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is out! – in North America anyway. With it comes a final trailer which neatly compresses all the good bits of FFXIII-2 into one minute. We hope you’re enjoying your copy, and if you don’t have one, get one – or at least move to a country where it’s out.
S-E promised activities in XIII-2 to break up the endless battles and cutscenes, and it looks as though they’ve delivered in this all new trailer.
It’s mostly old stuff, but some of it is quite interesting. There are several types of puzzles within the time gates, from connect-the-dots style to the earlier seen clock puzzles. We also see demonstrations of the monster hunting sidequests, slot machines and chocobo racing. Lastly, it seems that there will be a man within the game (invisible and found by Mog in the trailer) who will quiz you on your knowledge. In the trailer, this Captain Cryptic quizzed Serah on the appearance of a particular structure within the game world.
Square-Enix released a new trailer today that features Serah and Noel’s little friend Mog. While most of the information in the trailer is old news, it does shed some light on exactly how some of Mog’s features work. And if you watch it until the very end, there is a surprising development. As always, comments and discussion are welcome in the forums!
Now that the Japanese release of Final Fantasy XIII-2 is just around the corner, a few preview trailers of its improved gameplay have been released just recently. The official Japanese website has released these videos entitled as Battle – Basics and Battle – Expert. Both videos show the enhanced battle system, showing off the new features such as Blood Damage, Feral Link, and more. These videos can be watched under the “System” section.
Furthermore, IGN has also released an “Enhanced Battle System” trailer, demonstrating the same aforementioned features of the battle system. Head over to ign.com to watch it.
A Final Fantasy Type-0 trailer supplied with the limited edition version of Bump of Chickens “Zero” single has made it’s way online. The seven minute trailer mainly consists of cutscenes with quite a bit of new footage. This is possibly the last trailer we’ll get to see, so let’s hope it can tide you over until the games release. If it just isn’t enough for you, a 10 minute version of the promo video is available on Nico Nico which includes a three and a half minute long cutscene at the end. Enjoy!
Square Enix has just released the Japanese version of the NYCC Final Fantasy XIII-2 trailers on their Youtube channel, yet instead of being titled “New Adventures”, they call it the “Final Trailer”. With the games release coming in two months, it’s not surprising that there’s little more to show. See both the PS3 and Xbox 360 trailers below with full Japanese voice acting.
