A Final Fantasy Type-0 trailer supplied with the limited edition version of Bump of Chickens “Zero” single has made it’s way online. The seven minute trailer mainly consists of cutscenes with quite a bit of new footage. This is possibly the last trailer we’ll get to see, so let’s hope it can tide you over until the games release. If it just isn’t enough for you, a 10 minute version of the promo video is available on Nico Nico which includes a three and a half minute long cutscene at the end. Enjoy!
Square has announced even more pre-order DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2 in Japan and once again, it’s coming with a CD release. The games mini album to be specific. The download you’ll get is the Goddess’s Bangle and Goddesses’s Earring accessories. They both increase the strength and magical strength of the character they’re equipped on separately, however, having them both equipped at the same time also gives your character a special ability which strengthens item recovery.
The Diva Mic and Diva Headphones coming with the games Japanese theme have also had their abilities revealed. Using them both separately increases the item drop rate and Gil earned in battles. Using them together gives the special ability of increasing the rare item drop. But there’s even more. If you buy both the games theme song single and the mini album with the Goddess’s accessories, you can combine them to form a Super Accessory. Equipping all four accessories will increase your characters CP gained in battles. It may be a cash-in, but for die hard fans, it’s a nice incentive to buy more merchandise. It should be noted that actually being able to use all four accessories will likely come later in the game when that many accessory slots can be unlocked.

The theme song for Final Fantasy Type-0 has been leaked a day early. Zero by Bump of Chicken was due to go on sale on the 19th but the single has managed to make it’s way online to the masses, earlier than expected. It’s certainly not the greatest Final Fantasy theme song but for those of you so inclined, listen to the track thanks to the power of Youtube, below.
While purchasing the Japanese PS3 theme may get you special DLC in December, the international theme by Charice has the benefit of being released months in advance! New World, which is the Xbox 360 and international PS3 theme for Final Fantasy XIII-2, was released as a single on iTunes last week and now it’s made it’s way online for us to preview.
The single is a part of Charice’s new album entitled Infinity which will be released on October 5th. To listen to the song, download it off iTunes or listen to it in the video below.

Square announced earlier this month that we’d be receiving plenty of DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Today they’ve actually detailed some of what we’ll be getting, pre-release anyway.
For pre-ordering the game at Lawson’s or HMV in Japan, customers will receive a download code for a bonus weapon for Serah. The weapon itself is described as an angels bow which drains the damage it causes and converts it into HP for Serah. An image of the new weapon will be released in the future. It’s fairly likely the same DLC will be available as pre-order bonuses in other countries as well.
A second piece of pre-release DLC will be coming with the limited edition version of the games official PS3 theme, Yakusoku no Basho. The CD will include another download code which can be traded for some special bonus accessories. The set named “Gift from the Songstress” will include Diva Mic and Diva Headphones. Whether they actually do anything is yet to be confirmed. The CD will be out on November 23rd and the code can be used on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game but whether the Charice version of the song, New World, will include it hasn’t been announced.

The latest trailer for Final Fantasy Type-0 has been released at the Tokyo Game Show today. It features new gameplay and cutscenes as well as the first ever preview of it’s theme song, Zero by Bump of Chicken. See all of it below.
Take a good look at these girls because here are your Final Fantasy XIII-2 Theme Song Singers.
Mai Fukui (right) and Charice Pempengko (or known simply as just “Charice”) will each be singing a different theme song. Mai Fukui will be singing “Yakusoku no Basho” which roughly translates to “Promised Land” (The title in Japanese is 約束の場所). Charice however will be singing a song called “New World”.
This time around the theme songs will depend on location and platform. “Yakusoku no Basho” will apparently be featured on the Japanese PS3 version of the game (Japanese Xbox 360 get “New World”), along with select parts of Asia also on PS3. “New World” will be used as the theme song everywhere else both on PS3 and Xbox 360.
An interesting choice but Square Enix surely has its reasons for doing so.
After delaying the game from summer to autumn a couple of weeks back, Square Enix now has a firm release date for Final Fantasy Type-0 for the first time. The game will be coming out in Japan on October 13th, priced at ¥7,700. The higher price (the equivalent of $97) is most likely due in part to the higher production costs caused by the game being shipped on 2 UMDs.
Tabata also came out with a statement announcing that the theme song for Type-0 will be sung by Japanese rock group Bump of Chicken who previously performed the theme song for Tales of the Abyss. Tabata says that a theme song is an essential component in the game that’s required. The demo for the song titled Zero apparently moved him greatly.
