The opening for Final Fantasy Type-0 has surfaced, and naturally, it looks awesome. Check it out below.

The latest news coming out of Dengeki is that a downloadable version of Final Fantasy Type-0 will indeed be available, which was certainly in question for a number of fans. For those who don’t want to bother with the physical release or those that, say, only have a PSP Go and have no choice, here is your answer.
Even better is that this version will not only be cheaper, but it will be available on the same day as Type-0′s physical releases, October 27th
Again, no word yet on a release outside of Japan, but hopefully if and when it does, it will receive the same treatment.
Thanks to forum member Ffamran mied Bunansa for the heads up.

Square Enix has now formally unveiled the finalized Final Fantasy Type-0′s collector’s edition which became available for pre-order through their Japanese e-store a few months ago.
As you can see, it all comes bundled together in a very nice, clear, red packaging. What is included is; the game’s soundtrack, a postcard book, and a bonus DVD, along with the actual game of course.
Naturally, along with this, the game’s cover has also been revealed, and, going along with Final Fantasy tradition, the cover consists of the original Yoshitaka Amano artwork along with the game’s logo on a plain white background. It may not be flashy or new, but it does make a nice statement.
The game itself retails for around 7,700 yen, while the collector’s edition will run you 12,760 yen.

As promised by Square Enix last week, the Final Fantasy Type-0 demo has been released today on both the Japanese Playstation Store and the Official Type-0 Site. The Japanese demo is region free and available for anyone with a PSP to try out. All that’s required is 332MB of space on your memory card. Those of you without a Japanese PSN account are recommended to get it from the official site.
To download the demo from the official site you can visit this page or click the link directly below to begin your download now.
Final Fantasy Type-0 Natsubi Demo Download (332MB Zip) – Right Click > Save as
To install the game to your PSP, first connect it to the PC via USB or insert your Memory Stick if you have a card reader available. Unzip the file into the the GAME directory on the Memory Stick. The demo should now be available under the Game section of the XMB on your PSP. Enjoy. Remember Circle and X are the opposite way round!
The demo controls have thankfully been provided in English by Neoseeker user Rabla who has edited them into the image below.
A leak from Famitsu suggests that a Final Fantasy Type-0 demo may be coming out this September. The demo itself will be identical to the Natsubi demo on offer at Square Enix’s Odaiba Expo, save for a few tweaks. It should include the four missions we’ve seen available in video walkthroughs before.
Most importantly, the demo will be available as a free download rather than being bundled with a collectors edition like Final Fantasy XIII. With the PSP being region free, there’s nothing stopping those of you with Japanese PSN accounts from getting the demo at launch so everyone else, prepare!

Although it may have taken longer than expected, the joint Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII trailers have been officially released online. Unlike the previous Square Enix trailers released over the past couple of weeks though, you unfortunately need to have a login to the Japanese Square Enix Members site. Of course that hasn’t stopped people from ripping it. Here’s the trailer for all to see. An HD version will probably be released soon.
Update: The Youtube link has been taken down. We’ve now uploaded it to our own player.

It looks like we won’t have to wait for our Versus and Agito fix for quite as long as we though. Both the Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII trailers have been leaked and posted online. They’ve been recorded on a camera obviously so the quality is pretty bad but at least they didn’t get caught recording them. Here you go:
Although the combined Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII trailer has been spared the fate of appearing in Square’s infamous Closed Mega Theatre, it’s humiliatingly been stuck only appearing on screens inside the Square Enix booth where people queue to play other games. Even so, Gamespot has taken the time to post some impressions of the trailer. Read them below.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
“The Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer was part of a series of incredibly brief trailers that showed images from Final Fantasy XIII as well as Final Fantasy Agito XIII. We saw the main character, a young man with short black hair wander through several completely deserted areas. First it was a barren landscape, then it switched to a deteriorated roadway, and eventually we see him in the city, where it was just him fighting a giant behemoth. The quick fight scene showed him jumping and slashing furiously at the beast. Any hint of color or life in the trailer was limited to the spurts of red blood, coming from the behemoth, which stood out against the mostly dark and grey environment. There was nothing else on screen that would give us any clues as to how this game is set up other than it looks to be a 3D action game.“lockquote>
Final Fantasy Agito XIII
“It does appear that the cast in the game are a bunch of students, as we saw a young girl school girl in a noticeably short skirt wielding a giant hammer. The gameplay appears to be action oriented, with a targeting system similar to Crisis Core. Even if we could understand Japanese, the trailer was over so fast that all we could make out was that there will be some giant mechanical foes as well as chocobos to ride on.
At the end of the series of painfully short trailers, which included images for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Square Enix revealed that a Fabula Nova Crystallis conference will be held January 11, 2011, so we can assume all the information is being saved until then.“lockquote>

A new screenshot has been released of Lightning’s debut appearance on the PSP in Dissidia 012 [duodecim]. This time it’s an in-engine screenshot of her look as happy as ever. There isn’t any visible changes to her look – unlike other Final Fantasy characters featured – except a slightly more “chibified” face.
