Square Enix updated the official Final Fantasy XIII-2 website during the first day of PAX with a complete overhaul of the layout and a few new details on the story. As Serah’s fiance in the first game, many people have questioned why Snow hasn’t made an appearance, or even been mentioned in any trailers or news. The updated Story section reveals all:
Three years after the events in FINAL FANTASY XIII, Lightning has gone missing, and Snow is nowhere to be found. In a rebuilding world, Serah notices that something is amiss. After a fortuitous encounter with a mysterious man named Noel, the two set off to find Lightning.
Hopefully more will be revealed during the coming days.

Well here’s a surprise for everyone. IGN has seemingly fumbled and released a brand new Final Fantasy XIII-2 trailer early. The “Quest for Lightning” trailer appeared on IGN earlier this evening but was quickly removed. Evidently, it wasn’t removed quick enough as it’s been uploaded by various Youtube users. The trailer was apparently due for release on the first day of PAX, which is beginning tomorrow, but IGN have accidentally broken the embargo.
The surprise trailer features a huge amount of new footage that certainly is refreshing. A new character may even be featured but it’s best to see for yourself.
