S-E promised activities in XIII-2 to break up the endless battles and cutscenes, and it looks as though they’ve delivered in this all new trailer.
It’s mostly old stuff, but some of it is quite interesting. There are several types of puzzles within the time gates, from connect-the-dots style to the earlier seen clock puzzles. We also see demonstrations of the monster hunting sidequests, slot machines and chocobo racing. Lastly, it seems that there will be a man within the game (invisible and found by Mog in the trailer) who will quiz you on your knowledge. In the trailer, this Captain Cryptic quizzed Serah on the appearance of a particular structure within the game world.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is now on sale in Japan, and the live streams have already begun. There are several around but naturally, they don’t last forever. Thankfully, some clever soul has captured over seven hours of Leta_jp’s streams in extremely high quality from the very beginning. Presumably, it’ll be updated the more they play. So if you have no patience and want to see the full game for yourself now, watch the first part of the stream below.
If you want to watch the action live from other live streamers, take a look at this thread on our forums to see which ones are currently available. Spoilers naturally.
The first video is split into three parts, each roughly 1 hour 45 long. To watch the second and third parts of it, visit this link. To watch the second video, click the part 2 video in the Other videos section on that page.
Square Enix have posted a huge Final Fantasy XIII-2 video on their official Japanese Youtube channel, featuring tons of new gameplay and interviews with the developers. The 18 minute video has us following around some guy (no idea who) test playing FFXIII-2 for the first 8 minutes and speaking to the developers for most of the rest. Watch below to see new gameplay and the horrifying Chocobo lady.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 was featured in NicoNico, showing off gameplay from a finished version of the game. The characters can be seen in Bresha Ruins, the same featured location in the E3 demo only this time in a different time period. The whole video is in Japanese but it’s worth to have a look, so watch it below!
Yes folks, you read that right, more new screenshots have been released by Square Enix today, to tease us more, of course. These newly revealed screenshots show more of the new environments, cutscenes, the Live Trigger feature, and a lot more of the new stuff that XIII-2 will introduce us. I’m not gonna make this any longer; just indulge yourself on the new batch of screenshots below!
Now that the Japanese release of Final Fantasy XIII-2 is just around the corner, a few preview trailers of its improved gameplay have been released just recently. The official Japanese website has released these videos entitled as Battle – Basics and Battle – Expert. Both videos show the enhanced battle system, showing off the new features such as Blood Damage, Feral Link, and more. These videos can be watched under the “System” section.
Furthermore, IGN has also released an “Enhanced Battle System” trailer, demonstrating the same aforementioned features of the battle system. Head over to ign.com to watch it.
Hello everyone! It’s, of course, your man, Ethan, here at FinalFantasy-XIII.net! Late last month I was privileged enough to attend a somewhat under wraps event being held by Square Enix, on behalf of FinalFantasy-XIII.net, in LA.
As most members of the forums have figured out, this event was of course in regards to the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII-2. Square Enix was kind enough to fly me and a few other staff members from some other Final Fantasy related sites out to LA and attend the event. What’s more is that not only did I get to play an almost complete version of Final Fantasy XIII-2 but I got to meet Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Art Director Isamu Kamikokuryo and have some of my questions regarding the game answered!
It was all a very cool experience and I’d like to take this time to give a shout out to Square Enix and their PR department for making it all possible.

It’s only a few minutes into the 27th, and live streams of Final Fantasy Type-0 have already begun. It’s taken 5 years but Agito is finally here! In Japan anyway. Now comes the real test of whether it was worth the wait. Let’s hope to see strong sales figures so it can be brought overseas.
Naturally, that may take a while. So if you’re like many of us who are impatient, a Japanese player is playing the game on a live stream so we can feel a part of the action. You can’t get spoiled much more than this, so those of you with a strong constitution will have to try your best to resist. Click through the link below to see the stream.
Update: He’s done for the day. Here’s a link to another stream currently going on:
