Ruliweb have apparently found some official artwork of Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. It’s apparently official, but there’s nothing proving that it is or isn’t. The only reason I’d think otherwise is because some details are incorrect and they don’t look much like Nomura’s designs. In any case, the art does show a new character for Final Fantasy Versus XIII who is dressed quite a lot like The Prince… a bodyguard? We’ll get more info as it comes, until then enjoy the art.

Update: It looks as though, as earlier thought, it’s not official art. We have come to this conclusion in the forums thanks to BlankChocobo translating the little note next to the Blonde guy, which reads: “Wanna ride my bike?” XD

Although we already know most of the details about the Fabula Nova Crystallis trailers shown at this years Jump Festa, 1up.com has their own summaries of each of the trailers, including some details on Agito. Remember these are purely their impressions and details haven’t been confirmed.>

“The FFXIII clips were, once again, remixes of past footage with a few new sequences thrown in. The main FFXIII game showed off an Ifrit summon spell for the first time, although we couldn’t confirm if, like Shiva, Ifrit will transform into a vehicle. All the characters that have been featured in past clips, including “blonde guy” (not to be confused with Cloud, by the way) and hotter-than-Tifa “pigtail girl” got extended segments, but still no real details on their backgrounds.

Versus XIII footage was all CG once again, but like the game’s Tokyo Game Show trailer, the updated trailer was so moving that we’re convinced Square Enix should make the game into a collect-athon where you attempt to gather CG trailer clips. The trailer introduced a couple of new characters, bringing the nameless main character’s group of nameless ruffians to four.

In case you were wondering, both clips ended with “Only For PlayStation 3.” Square Enix apparently isn’t ready to go multiplatform. At least not yet…

The one bit of actual news from the Square Enix booth came during the trailers. Both Coded and Final Fantasy Agito XIII were confirmed as DoCoMo FOMA titles. This may not mean much to you if you’re outside of Japan, although there are a few rumors suggesting that Apple will be siding with DoCoMo for the iPhone’s Japanese distribution.”lockquote>Source: 1up.com

Our issue of CLOUD has finally arrived and we’ve scanned all of the Fabula Nova Crystallis related pages, 24 in total. We have seen all of the images before but some of the information in the text could be new. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait for a translation until we can tell. Hopefully we’ll have one soon.

As quite a few users on the site have PSP, so we have converted them into .mp4 format and resized them so they can be played on the PSP. They’re saved at pretty high quality and are roughly 20mb each.

Here’s a screenshot to judge quality:

For people that don’t know what they’re doing:

If you want to download them straight from the site to your PSP from your PSP, you need to hover over the link with your cursor and go to File > Save Link As and select your PSP/VIDEO/ directory to save it in and you should be able to run it under VIDEO from the XMB once it’s downloaded, obviously. If you want a thumbnail image, just save the thumbnail image in the same directory (VIDEO) with the same name as the trailer by going to “File” then “Save Image As”.

You might have to create a VIDEO folder by connecting your PSP to a PC, I don’t remember if it comes with it or not.

The new trailers for both Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII we were hoping for have been released to the public on the CLOUD DVD in Japan. These are the first trailers for any games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation the public has seen since last December thanks to Square-Enix’s Closed Mega Theatre. Now they’ve been ripped and are available for download. Both trailers are in the highest DVD quality possible and both are completely unwatermarked.

It’s now Friday in Japan, marking the official release date of the CLOUD artbook and accompanying DVD. Media Works have now opened the official site for the book which confirms all the trailers which are appearing on the Special DVD and has a preview of some of the pages in the book, including one Fabula Nova Crystallis page.

It should only be a matter of time until the Final Fantasy XIII and Versus trailers appear on the internet so keep checking back!

Official CLOUD Site

The people over at Apocalypse have managed to get hold of the CLOUD Artbook and DVD. They haven’t ripped the DVD content yet, but they have posted a little about it’s contents.

As we earlier reported, the trailers for Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII are from the Playstation Premier.

The Final Fantasy XIII trailer shows the transformation of Shiva into a motorcycle, and is the first appearance of the new “blonde” character. The Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer is an extended version of the one we have already seen. In this trailer we see “The Prince” actually fight the soldiers.

We’ll have both trailers available for download as soon as possible.

As well as the trailers, it seems as though there could be another volume of “CLOUD”. On the cover provided by Apocalypse you can see “Vol 1″ in the bottom corner which suggests this wont be the only issue. Can we expect more Fabula Nova Crystallis trailers from later issues? Hope so.
