Like yesterdays CLOUD Message scans, the Re: Final Fantasy XIII magazine has been uploaded to the internet one day prior to it’s official release. The scans contain the Final Fantasy XIII and Versus posters in full as well as the pretty amazing Shiva artwork we’ve seen in photos from DKS3137.
Update: A new scan for Final Fantasy XIII containing some artwork of Pulse has surfaced. Ifrit’s artwork has also been uploaded.
Of course what we’re waiting for with this magazine is the new trailers. Screenshots of the DVD menu have been uploaded so it shouldn’t be long before they surface somewhere on the internet. Here they are below. Looks like the person responsible wanted to reassure everyone Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still a PS3 exclusive.

The CLOUD Message scans have already surfaced on the internet a day before the books official release. It contains nine Final Fantasy XIII Compilation scans including “Creators Messages” for all three of the games as well as what looks like a drawing board showing character artwork, environment designs and even a world map. So out of this what’s new?
Final Fantasy XIII
Well we can confirm a very blurry new character for Final Fantasy XIII which I assume has been intentionally blurred as everything else is clear.
Someone has drawn a character doing 99999 damage which possibly confirms they intend the game to break the damage limit.
A new picture of Cocoon can be seen as well as a new area we haven’t seen before,.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Gameplay! Actual gameplay. It’s very small but I don’t think anyone can dispute what it is. There are a few images showing Noctis playing through several areas. One image shows him in an area with two clones of himself. I assume that’s just for development.
There are lots of new environments to which range from the cities to mountainous plains.
Final Fantasy Agito XIII
A full view of the world map can be seen.
Chocobos are confirmed and they look like their counterparts in Final Fantasy X.
Artwork of walking tanks reminiscent of Final Fantasy VI can be seen in the top right.
The artwork for a new character is also in the bottom right partly covered by some strange symbols.
Lastly some more new environments can be seen in two images.

In an unsurprising turn of events, Square Enix are taking their infamous Closed Mega Theatre to this years Jump Festa which almost definitely means that any trailers, old or new, will be shown behind closed doors with no filming or photography allowed.
Hopefully they will be kind enough to release some form a media, be it screenshots or a video (almost 100% that they wont) or someone will get away with filming it as with the Kingdom Hearts trailers, but don’t get your hopes up.

Dengeki’s CLOUD Message releases on the 12th and we’re pretty much expecting the same sort of publication as we got last year. This time there won’t be a DVD but there are a few interviews which might make up for it. Dengeki has opened a preview site for the book which shows a few small shots of the pages we’ll be seeing.
The Final Fantasy XIII preview shows artwork we’ve seen before but it seems Lightning’s has been changed slightly. Maybe this means Nomura is finally finished with her character design. You can see the changes in the two images below.

A little while ago we were teased with a scan saying “CLOUD message coming soon”. We didn’t hear anything more after that but look what’s turned up on Amazon Japan. It seems Dengeki, the publishers of CLOUD volume 1, are releasing another CLOUD book at the same time Famitsu is releasing the Re: Final Fantasy XIII DVD. This new book is coming out on December 12th, and here is the translated contents listed on Amazon Japan.
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Final Fantasy Agito XIII
Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete
Kingdom Hearts 358 / 2 Days
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
Kingdom Hearts Coded
The 3rd Birthday (The Third Birthday)
DKS3713 Event Report
No DVD is mentioned this time so it seems to just be an art book like we received before but without trailers and hopefully new information. It would be nice if Square-Enix stopped charging fans for the liberty of being interested in their series.

Famitsu, as the publisher of their newly announced Re: Final Fantasy XIII DVD, have posted an article on their site clarifying what will be contained on the DVD. It turns out the DVD will be 50 minutes long, not 60 like earlier thought and will contain trailers for Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII too. All of the trailers were shown privately at DKS3137 except for Agito which was shown privately at last years Jump Festa. None of these trailers have been officially released to the public. Interestingly there is no mention of the TGS08 Final Fantasy XIII trailer and gameplay that was brought up yesterday.
The DVD also has lots of footage from other Square-Enix titles. The full list of trailers and the events they were shown at is below.

Gemaga has conducted an interview with compilation developer Tetsuya Nomura. In the interview, he explains some of the information we’ve seen over the last few weeks and clears up some misconceptions. Here are some of the translated details thanks to Autumn Thread from Neogaf.>
This weeks Gemaga has an interview with Nomura, he mentions that before the end of the year we’ll see the battle scene in FF13, blu-ray is a bonus and because of that uploading to the blu-ray discs is faster. Also, they have no immediate plans to release information on the voice acting cast.FF Agito – The current battle interface is temporary. Shown in the latest pictures is 3 people in a party but as production moves along it will become more.
Versus – “The Goddess Etro” which was spoken of in the dialogue between Noctis and Stella is not the goddess shown in the painting drawn by Amano.lockquote>

Famitsu have posted a few of the screenshots seen in the recent Famitsu magazine scans. The screenshots are better quality than the scanned images and don’t have writing all over them. Enjoy!
