V-Jump has released a Final Fantasy Type-0 feature on newly named character Cater, Deuce, and Trey. With it comes summaries on the three class zero members, detailing their personality and weapons. See the scan itself below.
Cater
Known for her strong confidence and emotions. She hates to lose and can be relied on in any situation but wears her heart on her sleeve. Her weapon is a shotgun with magic infused shells. She can’t move while firing but her ammo can be fired continuously without ever running out.
Trey
A mature class member, who’s calm and takes care of his appearance. His wisdom allows him to understand peoples train of thought but he’s known for speaking at great length. Trey’s weapon is a bow which gives him the furthest range of all the students but he can only hit still targets.
Deuce
A serious girl who works arduously, performing her duties for class zero without hesitation. Quick to speak her mind. She uses a flute as her weapon which sends “bundles of sound” towards her target. She can use musical scales to set traps.

With a chance at being lost amongst the flurry of E3 news for Final Fantasy XIII-2, Square Enix sneakily updated the official website for Final Fantasy Type-0.
New renders for Sice and King were added and brawler Eight makes his debut under the Characters Class Zero section. Under Subcharacters, Square Enix have added Arecia and Gilgamesh. Those three new additions all have voice samples to go with them. The System section has additions for Kill Sight and Special Orders, two previously detailed features. Along with that are Battle Style entries for King, Sice and Eight.
Finally, a new wallpaper featuring King, Sice and Eight is available under Special in various sizes (click on that funny writing that looks like ダウンロード if you’re interested on downloading it).
This week’s onslaught of Type-0 information is also being accompanied by new screenshots courtesy of Famitsu. Of the characters revealed this week, we’re given an in-game look at playable characters King, Sice, and Eight. As previously covered in our preceding article, one of Suzaku’s concocting magic leaders named Arecia Al-Rashia can be seen in the last image below.
Who is the figure in the fourth image? The legendary Gilgamesh who will appear in Type-0 as a l’Cie of Genbu (one of the four peristyliums in the world).

Issue 495 of Dengeki PlayStation has featured an article on Final Fantasy Type-0 which reveals two new characters.
Alongside King and Sice from the recent Jump reveal, Dengeki details the characters Eight and Arecia Al-Rashia. Eight is a red-headed youth specialising in hand-to-hand combat. Arecia heads up the magic division for Suzaku. She is said to have particularly notable chesty appendages and glasses, bringing to mind Jihl Nabaat from Final Fantasy XIII.
The magazine also touched on the role of Gilgamesh in the game. Gilgamesh is a l’Cie to the Genbu crystal and seems to have forgotten the mission imposed on him. Nevertheless, he seems rather content to attempt to lay some smackdown on the game’s young heroes, appearing as a massive boss.
Dengeki detailed various aspects of the gameplay as well, including the game’s Active World Map. The Active World Map is a system where various areas will come under attack and the player can assist in defending against invaders (not the space kind… as far as we know). As one example of a map mission, you may be instructed to take over an enemy stronghold in a city. Upon your victory, you’ll be able to make use of the amenities offered by the city, such as shops.
Continuing the relative blowout of information, Dengeki reveals that during missions, you may receive Special Orders, additional objectives that yield special rewards when completed. On the other hand, if you fail, then you get the very, very special reward of death. Fortunately, you will not automatically be obligated to the orders, with the opportunity to reject them being present.
Finally, two battle features known as Kill Sight and Break Sight. Time an attack just right against an enemy with a red target and they will be instantly defeated. This is Kill Sight. Break Sight features a yellow target and, while not killing the enemy, it will cause heavy damage.
Type-0 is beginning to show its immensely ambitious nature. Those 2 UMDs make so much more sense now. It looks as if the PSP is going to go out with a bang. Or that could just be you failing a Special Order.
Edit 25/5: And now some scans – meaning photos – of Eight, Arecia and Gilgamesh have made their way onto 2channel. These are from issue 1173 of Weekly Famitsu, which has run a similar story to Dengeki PlayStation.

The latest issue of V-Jump reveals new information about Final Fantasy Type-0′s two (almost) main characters, Rem and Machina. The two characters in question are both new students in Suzaku Magic School’s Class Zero, the same class the other twelve characters are members of. Rem is apparently a master of magic while Machina is somewhat of a prodigy in the academy.
Machina Kunagiri (voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya) wields two drill like swords known as “Bolt Rapier” which he can launch combos of up to 10 strikes with. Rem Tokimiya (voiced by Ryoko Shiraishi) is an adept magic user who uses two ornate daggers in what’s been described as a beautiful fighting style.
The invading country of Milites, headed by High Commander Cid Oldstein (voiced by Shuichiro Moriyama), is attempting to steal the Crystals of four countries hoping to strengthen their empire.
Moogles were confirmed for Agito almost 5 years ago but their purpose in Type-0 has finally been revealed. They’re responsible for giving the player missions as seen in the screenshot.
Although no scans of this issue have surfaced yet, someone has thankfully taken photos which illustrate the above information a bit better. See them below.
