Cid is different from the PSICOM that Lightning and co. fight, he leads a force called the cavalry corps. He's a brigadier general, and pretty high-ranked. Rygdea's his subordinate.
Garrence is a representative of Cocoon.
If this information is true:
*Cid (Black-haired man) is not only a leader of cavalry corps force but also a Brigadier General. That's mean Cid has a higher rank than Jihl's and Yaag's.
* Garrence is the name of the old man. (Representative of Cocoon).
* Rygdea is the name of the brown-haired man. (Cid's subordinate).
What do you think of the roles/objectives of those three characters?
Are they L'Cies of Cocoon?
Who is going to be with or againest Lightning and Co?
Who is going to die at the end? (Cie Corpse, Crystal, killed)

Garrence - Something sacriligious. Look at that stupidly religious hat.

Why did you click on this thread when it has his name in the title? Makes no sense to me.
Wouldn't suprise me if Cid was a L'Cie. He'll probably be the one to assist Snow & the others to escape. As for Rygdea, he'll just follow whatever Cid tells him to do with a grumpy look on his face. And yeah, I definitely see the old guy kicking the bucket. If he isn't killed off by Lightning & Co., a heart attack will do the job.
On a side note: I really do hope to see Cid put Jihl's bossy tits in her place.
Well.. Jhil is suppose to be cruel but in the novel there is no hint of that.
So I'm thinking she maybe plotting something secretly herself.
Or maybe both Jhil and Yaag realize something in the end and help the good guys or something.
Cid does say he's a slave of the fal'cie, so he's probably a l'cie. Because he's a l'cie, he may be understanding and forgiving to those who are l'cies.
And since Cid has a gunblade similar to Lightnings, they may have different focuses and fight each other throughout the game.
Maybe Rygdea will be the type of person who comes up to your party and goes "Hey, if you just surrender now, we'll take it easy on you." And then after Lightning says 'hell no', you get into a fight with him, easily whup his butt, and then Cid comes in and destroys your ass without even trying.
What does it mean when it says Garrence is a representative of Cocoon? Does that mean he goes and talks to the Pulse leaders, or does he talk to the government on behalf of the people? He sounds very arrogant, so I'm guessing he'll be the one you'll want to jump through the screen and choke in the game.
