The ball thing is the weather globe, as mentioned in Hope's chapters. I think it was in the last lot of magazine scans that stronger fiends appear when it's raining and/or nighttime. I thought they might have acted like the save spheres in FFX but apparently they aren't found everywhere

Thanks for the screens. Some of the in-game ones really look like CGI (i.e Hope's summoning cutscene) I love the battle, I love the menu system/crystalium system, I love the gorgeous setting. I love everything of it. Every new screen makes me want the game now... I really hope we'll have a demo version coming up soon.

I know exactly what you mean, Saki. Her stance in battle even LOOKS like she should be firing off all sorts of spells, and I'll most likely be using her as a Ravager, for the most-part, as well as a Synergist/Saboteur combo.
And I'll only be glad when we see Vanille's summon. I read somewhere it will show her dark resolve within.
I've been on Team Leviathan since the beginning, until yesterday, when I thought about Ark: a dark summon, a parallel to Alexander in IX, plus it's a ship so it still has that water connotation

If you look at some other threads some of us think that each summon has a corresponding element, and water is the one left over. Alexander, although typically being Holy, has Earthquake as one of his attacks, and it's been said that earth will play a different role in the game. That being said a water one is left, so being Levaithan, Bismark, or some new one, or alter an old summon (ie. like Shiva sisters, Odin being Lightning/wind elemental) and if Holy has something to do with earth, a dark summon may have something to with water.

Oh I know. I've come across many speculation posts and all sorts of summons being brought up from English sites like this one to Japanese sites like 2ch.
Looking at the screenshots a lot just gets me excited about the game more XD
It's so colorful. Scenery is pretty too I don't mind the textures of the grasses in some areas.
