Actually, I'm quite enjoying the contradiction here. Vanille's whole "Sugar, Spice, & Everything Nice" persona was grating on my nerves. This new eidolon show promise that she won't be as worthless of a character that I originally pegged her to be.
Not exactly. Hecatoncheir was in FFIII. It's not the exact same spelling, but pretty much the same exact thing... and it looks a lot different... but he was a boss.
Hmm, I saw it on 2ch awhile back, but I didn't think it was true. A lot of people haven't played the first several FFs, so that's like a lol right there.
Hmm, as much as I'm digging Vanille's eidolon, I was kinda hoping for an organic summons. But I suppose giving the nature chick an organic summons would be rather cliche.
An organic summon would have been neat, but that's muted by my anticipation to see what Gaia Salvo looks like in its entirety. In fact, I could honestly go for seeing any of the final attacks besides Shiva's and Odin's.
1 - Gattling Cannon
2 - Tetra Missile
3 - Penetrate Ray (I think.)
4 - Buster Force
5 - Gaia Salvo
Gaia = Earth goddess
Salvo = A simultaneous or successive discharge of artillery, bombs, etc.
Seems like she's some cute innocent girl who isn't taken seriously. So she ends up riding a mech, firing big dangerous guns, and having fun at the same time.
Think of the part where Snow hands her a gun and how she acts with it. It's cute silly fun. It's the same thing when she's on her summon pretending to fire a gun herself. She'll probably pretend to do other things as well.
Wonder what this role is called?

Possibly, but we need to stop thinking about Eidolons being tied down to one element, when they've got different attacks that don't relate to what we think their elements are. I think we should do what SE said, and think of them based on their play style, and not elements.
Btw, she's absolutely adorable when she's on top of her summon, Topman! That's exactly why I took a screenshot of it, and used it as my avatar. I'm hooked to the bitch now, lol.
I think it's pretty reasonable to call them a specific element when it's present in their final attack. After all, look at Brynhildr and the Shiva Sisters; they're pretty blatantly elemental.
I'm agreeing with Aeris. All this talk about elements shouldn't matter at all, it's all about their Gestalt mode. For all we know, they aren't even caring about elements..
Vanille looks totally adorable with that =O expression on top of her summon...
With the elemental thing - wouldn't it be possible that the attacks might look elemental, but are technically not? ie, do the same dmg to different elemental monsters?
