Capcom’s "Devil May Cry 4" Goes Multiplatform! Mega-hit Title set for PLAYSTATION® 3, Xbox 360™ and PC!
Capcom Co., Ltd., a world-wide leader in the gaming industry, is proud to announce the development of "Devil May Cry 4" for the PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360™ and PC platforms.
"Devil May Cry" is a series of popular, stylish action games, with a cast of unforgettable characters. Since the release of the original "Devil May Cry" in 2001, the series has shipped 6,800,000 copies as of December 31st, 2006, proudly making it one of Capcom's flagship titles. The series appeal is not limited to games; an animated TV series to be broadcast on Japan's WOWOW network is slated to air Spring 2007. The latest iteration, "Devil May Cry 4" will take advantage of each platform's hardware strengths to achieve the most stunning visuals in the series to date, and the introduction of a mysterious new protagonist will keep the action fast and fresh. Even before its release, "Devil May Cry 4" has been met with tremendous anticipation, as fans patiently endured long lines at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2006 for the chance to play the demo. "Devil May Cry 4" will be released simultaneously for the PLAYSTATION®3 and Xbox 360™ platforms.
Capcom was among the first software developers in the world to make games for the next-generation consoles, and those efforts have been met with great success. In addition, Capcom's use of an integrated development environment is one of the many methods being employed to improve efficiency and help take advantage of the cutting-edge functionality in next-generation systems.
Capcom will continue to produce titles that appeal to users while pursuing a multiplatform strategy to help enhance profits.
This kind of sucks. I never played DMC but the PS3 is loosing exclusives left and right.
What happens next? loose GTA4? FF13? MGS4? That would suck total dick.
GTA4? too late FF13 (prolly not but possible ) MGS4? wow that doesnt even need to be confirmed
that whole 20 disc BS is well...BS
you can fit MGS4 in one disc if you can fit Oblivion in one disc, MGS4 has NO CG cutscenes that is what takes up so much space in discs heck im shure GTA games are huge too..if you want to beleive Blue ray discs being full nonesense go ahead
you can fit MGS4 in one disc if you can fit Oblivion in one disc, MGS4 has NO CG cutscenes that is what takes up so much space in discs heck im shure GTA games are huge too..if you want to beleive Blue ray discs being full nonesense go ahead
Then you should know about the loading(even with caching) that happens constantly. The way the game is compressed makes baby jesus cry
yup there are alot of loading screens, but its only a long one when you are outdoors, because it has to laod up a huge area..my point was, BIG game fits on DL DVD disc, so why not MGS4..enough said
It also loads why you are outdoors. The game stops for a second or two and says "Loading" in the center of the screen. You can't miss it.
The game world is also much smaller then Morrowind.
i know this man
its irrelevant to what im saying..
that Resistence fill up the blue ray disc totally dropped the BS ball for me..there is no way resistance can fill up all that space, there is no way..and thus i dont beleive when someone tells me any game is too big to port
FF13 is my lifeline for PS3, if it goes, i wont even look at another PS3 again...

Kojima has already said thats its going to take a 50GB blu-ray. It's because of the amazing graphics and HD, not CG cutscenes.

I like that. And Resistance didnt take up the whole disc.
last i checked 360 games had amazing graphics and are in HD...and i also distinctly remeber that same guy saying the game was possible on 360...ive seen the latest MGS4 screenshots

It was also something about uncompressed sounds. If you got a good speaker system you are going to get your money worth for it, But I wonder how the ram and read speed section will work. Maybe he uses the harddrive as cache for the music.

Lol ye. Its was something that the game was 5x times with different language.
If anyone wonders why oblivion fits in a 5 gb dvd its because it uses an technology making 3d into vector or something. It puts more load on the cpu to compress it.
If you want to know more you have to try kkrieger. Its a 96kB huge game and it has some crazy graphics for that size.

Yeah, so you'll know that they're better than anything on the 360 so far, in my opinion anyway.

Yup.
Kojima talks about it here too:
Quote:
GP: Resistance: Fall of Man uses 22 GB [edit: recently changed to 16 GB] of Blu-ray storage. Is that necessary for next-gen development? Is that massive storage something you'll need to make MGS4?
Kojima: Right away. We'll need more.
GP: We recently spoke with Sony's Phil Harrison, who told us that he thinks PS3 games will soon use 50 GB. Do you agree with that prediction?
Kojima: Yes, I do. It's high-def, and just to make it high-def, the data requirements are huge.
Back in the days when I was working on 8-bit, 1 MB ROMs came out and I thought, "wow, great!" But it wasn't enough. When the CD-ROM came out, we thought we had so much space. But when we started to add sound, there was a lack of storage already. Even Blu-ray, I don't even feel that it expanded data so much. You may hear Blu-ray is huge, gigantic, 20 GB or so, but that's not really that big to us. One basic [gameplay] frame with HD and 5.1 takes up so much space that the capacity will become too small in no time. If we maintain the same level of graphics and sound as the PS2, then Blu-ray is spacious. But that's not the case.
Now no one start console flames now plz its fucking boring this PS3 vs 360 argument.
I totally doubt he would fill a 50gb disc. Unless it has 5 languages and tons of different sounds and voices. and if for some reason he did fill a 50 gig blu ray disc it would only be 7 DVD 9's(since 360 can't run HD-DVD games). And that would be retarded.
