Some friends of mine over at FFCompilation seem to think you can do two player on FFIX during battles. E.g one person attacks as Zidane, the next gets to control Vivi...etc. Anyone actually done this?
Well, I've tried it. Its not really that much of a 2P feature. Well, some games used it, and claimed it as fully 2 player co-operative.

Its alright, good for if someone like a friend is watching, it interacts them. But otherwise, nothing to say, for instance, "Lets both go home and play FF9". Its a 1P first, with an aditional 2P.
Yeah. Well, Kitmitsu hasnt played FF9 and im trying to make him xD Maybe us both playing might be a bit more interesting. D: But like you said i cant imagine it being that amazing.
Sounds like a pretty weird thing to add to the game Does sound like an interesting thing to try though. Probably would make me want to play it slightly more as I dont hear many good things about it.
Well, games like some of the Lord of the Rings games had this feature, it worked well. So I suppose it depends on if you have someone to play it with. But making it only for battles sort of ruined the possibilities to some extent.
As far as I knew, there wasn't anything in the rules of the forums indicating that it was bad to bump old threads. I could be wrong if any of the site staff or moderators would let me know. Otherwise, this post is still active none the less, it isn't closed so I thought it was okay for me to reply.
