The crystals have always been a central theme of most of the ff games right? So normally they would have an elemental significance, ya know fire , water , earth , wind ect . All controlling diff elements in the nature of that game world. (ie : ffv wind controls winds on high seas and abroad, fire controls ability to create and manage fire, ect.)
What i do not really get is how this might play into the new version of the crystals or crystal in ff13. I wonder if it will be one big one like ff9 i think which if i rember didnt have any elemental properties , just controlled everything like a big god crystal with a ginormous guardian, or will it be more like traditional ff's where there will be more than one controlling diff elements of the game world i hope so that would be kinda cool int his generation i think.
Im not really sure i think the back story for versus i think was that there were many crystals now there's only one left or maybe that was agito 13 oh well. Anyways i wonder how this will be set up for the ff13 compilation and if it will be a completely new way of using these crystals as a major plot device in these games and if they will do more than sparkle and sit around and look pretty .
edit:: I wish in a ff the crystal would control and change the game world you run around in in full 3d i think that would be kinda cool .Like say taking possession of one would completely change the environment as you run around , like oh its a frozen wasteland ohlook i have my fire crystal and as you run around the area starts to grow and turn from frozen tundra to lush forest as you run around it changes the environment you are runnning around in hmmm that doesn't sound like something that would make it in just a dumb thought i had.
