How did everyone here get into videogames? What was the first one you ever played?

Probably showing my age now, but the first game I ever played was Daley Thompson's Decathlon on the Spectrum in about 1985. It was essentially a rip off of Track & Field, but I didn't care, to me it was the most awesome thing ever and so began my love of videogames that continues to this day.

Oh wow... First ever game I played... I think was "General Chaos" for Sega Genesis... I forget...

It was like a Red VS Blue army game... Fun!

I don't remember the first game I ever played but I know the first game I ever owned was Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland

It was an amazing game with a mix of live action ontop of pre rendered backgrounds XD Had loads of celebrities in it too. I'm gonna go find it and see if it actually works on XP, it was released in 1996

The first game I ever played I think was Quest For Camelot on the GameBoy Color.

'Cept I never got to finish it cause I lost it. Then five years later my friend admits to thowing it away.

The earilest I can remember is either Sonic for the Genesis or Tetris for the Gameboy.

Either way both are classics

I guess you can really say "Time Flies" then.

My got two games when I was around eight: Mario Kart 64, and Sub Zero: Mortal Kombat. I remember I always played Mario Kart with my friends, but I never played Sub Zero because the blood and the gore - especially when Sub Zero was smashed by the pillars - always made me nervous. However, I liked watching my cousin play it because he was actually good at it. I still think Sub Zero has an awesome character design.

My first Final Fantasy was FFX - I got it when it came out (2002, 2003?) When I tried playing FF7, it was quite difficult to finish it because I kept making comparisons between the graphics back then and the graphics of today.

The story was cool though!

Lol I could. I got my very first video game console when I was um...7 I think. IT was the GameBoy Color. My mom gave me the game along with it. Cause that was the year I first saw the movie. It was an awesome movie. I still watch it today.

Super Mario on the first Gameboy I think. I had a yellow one

Though, I might have had a SNES before that, so i dont remember. If it was, my first game was probably Super Gouls and Ghosts.

Mine was sonic on the sega megadrive! Woohoo! Then I went onto Donkey Kong on the gameboy.
