well i got a bit surprised when SE announced FFXIV yesterday. But when i saw the FFXIV "online" , i could not care less of the game. i really never liked mmorpg games. so i will just skip this one, just like i did with FFXI.
i think that now when FFXIV has been announced and its a online game, many of FF fans are "angry" at SE, and now they want a new FF game only for PS3 , and SE knows this, so im pretty sure that under this year they will announce FFXV. And when they do that they got 3 FF(FF XIII, FF XIV, FF XV) games for PS3 just like they had with PS1 ( FF VII, FF VIII, FF IX) PS2 ( FF X, FF XI, FF XII) and then there are some spins offs like FF X-2 & FFvsXIII.
So who thinks that SE will announce FFXV this year?
We have a specific forums for discussing Final Fantasy titles, don't post stuff like this in General Chat.
And I don't think they'll announce it this year, they really don't need to. If you're unhappy with XIV, you still have XIII to come. It doesn't make good marketing sense to overload your audience with title announcements. Save XV for when there's space, not when you've just announced one title and still have a couple more on the table. Next year, or the year after I'd say.

Personally, I think this year might be too year because SE has a lot of new games on their hands to promote and introduce to the world, say at E3. FFXIII and FFvXIII hasn't even came out yet. Lol. I would agree with you if these games has already came out, giving SE a finish and a new start. Why the rush? We had a clue that a SE online game is going to be announced whenever since a few years ago (2006 I think?), which make reasonable sense for SE to developed the game to the point where it is presentable at E3. It's not like they all of a sudden announced it. So I don't think you can just expect FFXV to be announce that fast. It's highly improbable. By the way, I know nothing about how the game industry works or how they market and how they tend to announce games. I might be totally wrong. Just my thoughts. Just to restate my opinion: NO, I don't think they will be announcing FFXV this year. Maybe a year or two. Patience.

...nah, i think this one will catch up to the ps3 most likely. Ps2 had FFX, FFX-2, FFXII and DoC so the ps3 may hold 3 or more FF titles.

hell, i'm disappointed with 14 being just an mmorpg that looks like it could've just been another installment for 11. and why would they anounce 15 so soon anyway that would make it seem like the developers got bored and don't care about making a good game anymore so they just throw shit out and expect to be paid in gold bars. just think about it people

They've been working on it for years, if we haven't heard anything it's probably because it's taken so long for XIII to get close to release.

xv wont b anounced or talked about for a long time cuz they havent even realeased xiii and have the whole fabula novala compilation thing to do and all of the original ff designers r working on that compilation so begining a xv would prevent it from being a true ff title

why? its not main entry in the series so what is it?
For it to be a spin-off it would have to have come from XIII, i.e. including characters from XIII or at least being set in the same world (DoC is a spin-off for example). The 'common base mythos' link isn't strong enough to warrant the accurate use of the term 'spin-off'. It's a stand-alone game, part of a compilation.
Technically. Personally I couldn't give a rat's arse what people call it.

Listen, I've been a Final Fantasy fan since the beginning, and to be perfectly honest, I could care less which console they are on. Sure, I have my preferences, and I do like the PS3 more than the 360 to some extent, but there's also a big issue that I'd like to bring out. Why are so many people upset that FFXIII is coming out on the 360 also? I just want to be enlightened about what the big issue is. What does it matter to you what consoles the FF games are released on? The PS3 isn't some exclusive club that you're a member of and if you don't have one you aren't in the cool club, but that's what people act like. If anything, I'm excited that it's being cross-platformed simply because those people that can't afford a PS3 AND a 360 will also be able to enjoy the wonders of FFXIII. Don't you want more people to be able to enjoy the game as much as you do? I think it's a shame that there are so many exclusive titles from both sides, but as a marketing ploy it definitely is good strategy to get people to choose your console since their favorite game isn't offered on another. Now, the Wii is a different story, since it's engine can't handle many of the games without being dumbed down, and a game should never be dumbed down for accommodation since that takes something away from it. So anyway, back to the point at hand, is it really that big of a deal to you what demographic can enjoy FFXIII? Square Enix isn't traitors for doing this by any means, which is something else I've heard. If you really are as in love with FF games that you claim to be, then you want other people to be just as happy as you are with their video game experiences, so by all means, share it to those that can't reach it with their machines!
So, since this IS a forum, what do you all think? Valid, or full of nonsense? Please discuss. Thank you and hope you enjoyed my very first post. =)
