i read somewhere seriously on this forum website that someone was thinking about making a ff9 - 2 but had a hard time trying to convince people to make it and the characters were fancyable or sum thin... like if ff9 was in production thats just like wow but like what would the story contain cause i thought the ending pretty much covered up everything but lets see what happens !!
That was the IGN interview posted here the other day.
Quote:
IGN: Of all the Final Fantasy games, which one would you like to work on a sequel for?
Takeshi Arakawa: FFIX. I was involved in the production; I expressed my ideas, but I also had quite a hard time in the process. And some of the characters look really... fanciable.
It's just the one he'd like to do, doesn't mean they're doing or will ever do it.
to me ff9 wasn't that interesting i felt like after they had made 8 they took a step back a bit to satisfy a part of the masses a.k.a. kids if anyone decides to make a sequel to that then they better do something more with 6,8, & 10

They did do something with 10, X-2 remember, 6 could use something new to, but it's kinda old and out there and stuff not to mention shadow might have died already and stuff, and 8 was just to much Rinoe and Squall love story to have a decent add on

yeah but when playing 10 you had so much of a back story you could've made another game or two out of it, with 6 it was based on what you decided to do for shadow to live or not and 8 didn't only have a love story but they did put everything in one game but i think there might be at least one big thing to make a game out of

They could make Jetch, Auron and Brasiks adventure for 10 true, 6 is just to old for them to make someone out of it now, and 8 they could but 9 is a better choice then 8
i see your point there, at least they could do a NDSi remake 6 and 5 and while they have a ps3 remake of 7 out there, 8 deserves at least something
7 doesn't' have a ps3 remake and it's not going to, 5 and 6 will probably have handheld remakes later, there going to do something for 9 before 8 but it might get something if they do something for everything else

I disagree, I believe they will make a FF7 remake after they're finished with FFvXIII. They just can't announce it or even fathom it until that project is completed... But that doesn't mean it won't happen, it may be just wishful thinking, but I am praying they do remake it for PS3...
IDK i dont care anymore , just get XIII serires of games done (13, 13v, Agito) , then bring on XIV . Im getting sick of remake rumors yeah all the ff's on ps1 would probably make awesome remakes or -2's i think anyways. But its in the past and im starting to adopt the lets just leave it in the past attitude.
I cant take it anymore rumors about remakes and other games when the flagship game still isnt done and has been in dev what months before the ps3 even came out. I just say enough already i want 13 and im in a 1 track state of mind right now , if anything worry about that stuff after the 13 games are done..............Like pleaseeeeee Like XD
I never really got the chance to play FFIX to completion (reasons I rather not bother to tell). Nonetheless, a sequel to an FF game like FFIX sounds interesting as well as exciting nostalgia for veterans (excluding me, but that's okay). On a personal bias, I'd be thrilled if Square-Enix ever hint or consider remaking or making a sequel to FFVIII (OMG, LOVE, and preferably on PS3) and I'd faint if they happen to actually do it. FFVIII was the first FF I played, it was so cool. Very very very final fantasy. Let's just say any remake or sequel to any Final Fantasy should be welcome and be excited about, for me at least.

Remaking them would be kind of pointless unless it's on a handheld for obvious reasons and FF8 would be really hard to make a sequel for without doing the totally ridicules stuff things like digimon does for the movies, 9 would be tricky but not impossible and anything before 7 just isn't well known enough for anything but a handheld remake X already has something, XI is an online one, and I think it already got an expansion pack and XII didn't get enough positive feedback to warrant anything, FFIX is the most possible one especially considering one of the developers wants to, and I honestly don't know if I'd prefer something new or not, I guess just playing XII makes me want less of the new, but the ones that aren't out yet look good, that said there not out yet so yea I'd welcome a IX sequel or spin off

I did not expect a reply this fast. Okay, well I can only hope (unfortunately) if SE ever considering making a sequel out of FFVIII, and if they do I hope they don't making something ridiculous, which would only make me sad. I'd like to assume that SE would have people do in-dept analysis of FFVIII storyline and whatever relates to it, and spark any potential sequel ideas from there. I for one, can't think of any at the moment. It's just would a be so awesome if that happens. Anyway, about FFIX, I say SE should do it! It would be nice to see the kind of visual style FFIX had. Yeah? Oh, I love the FFIX music also, especially that one song I think it's called Black Mage Village.
