I was cruising around Youtube one day and I found a video that I say accurately displays the Latin and english translations used in the song for the Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer.
You will probably have to read the comments posted on the video because there has been some controversy to the translation but other than that, it is pretty accurate.

the translation me and The one_neo bahamut done was good and accurate but these 2 possums come along without even saying 'well done its a good translation' all they say is 'yours is wrong ours is more accurate because our latin professor helped us' they even said our knowledge of latin wasnt as good as theirs rudely by my view.probably a load of crap what they said-i dont know
both our translations our good but there was some controversy at the beginning

translations can be interpreted in many different ways (unless they are literal) and can only give you the general idea it wants to give you. but i have no idea how to read latin, so i guess i have no say in this
But I don't really think it matters so much on how you translate it [unless it's really different] , I think the meaning of the words is more important.. but I don't think that's what you mean to say heh
Well I don't know how to read or speak Latin so I guess I don't have a say in this either like Lathandien
Interficio Nocte's learnin' Latin. D'you think you could translate the song Nocte?
And if you'll notice, the trailer's been translated, not by professionals, but by fans of Final Fantasy. You see it all the time with other songs (i.e. Japanese songs) as well.

ITS INTERFICIO....
And hell no, I know the words, but I do not know the endings....therefore, I could not tell you squat.
It would take too much typing to explain what a ending is and how they alter the words meaning.....In short, its can change a words meaning from Present, Future, Future Perfect, & Plu Perfect.....

Sorry! I read it wrong and didn't go back to see if I was right. *hits self*
I know what the endings do to the words, I figured that out when I studdied the different endings on "Tempus Fugit." Besides, I was sorta joking... But...okay...
Note to self: Never try to spell "Interficio." Will most likely spell wrong and tick Nocte off.
