Kitase: No Final Fantasy XIII Blu-ray Demo in the West
Yoshinori Kitase attended a press event in London today where he was asked several questions pertaining to Final Fantasy XIII. One of the questions was concerning the Final Fantasy XIII demo, recently released in Japan with the Advent Children: Complete Blu-ray. When asked by VideoGamer whether the Blu-ray demo would reach western shores, Kitase said that "We currently have no plan of doing that abroad, partly because we are going to carry on with the project alongside the Xbox version, so we really can't just make it available only for the PS3."
He continued to say that there may be a possibility of the demo becoming available via download outside of Japan stating: "But we hear that the demo version normally means something that you can download in the West, so that is a possibility we would like to check." It seems downloadable demos are something of a mystery to Square-Enix but who can blame them when they're making so much money making us pay for them.
I'm not mad. I'd rather experience the full game anyways. Something the demo will never give gamers. But rather just an hours worth of gameplay. 'Sides, I agree with Kitase. It'd just be a waste of time. Especially when FFXIII will be close to releasing months after the Japanese release in '09. Not only that but the U.S version would be delayed if there were to be a "physical" demo.

How the hell would that delay it, they have to translate the thing anyways so once there done the first part copy and paste it, wow that took a whole 5 minutes

Oh and I love how the port to the 360 is affecting PS3 owners again.
Although they probably wouldn't make a demo anyways anyways, they just have a better excuse to say no now.

Well, considering that we saw that the demo trailer has been leaked into the net. I don't see the need to play the demo now. Thanks to Gamersyde's DjMizuhara for providing us footage.
