Default The Sequel Debate!!!

Why do sooo many people PMS over the thought of a Prequel/Sequel for a game. I know that there isn't one person that watches movies, listens to music or plays game, none the less read a book, would love to see there favorite movie or good movie be made into a sequel ( depending on the movie and story) or can'y wait for there favorite musician release there next CD after there last or play a sequel to there favorite or awesome video game, even if you love to read books, there alot and ALOT of books that need to be made into 2,3,4,5 book sequels. Now not every movie,cd,video game or book needs to be a sequel but 60 to 75 percent do. If not alot of these movies, cds, video games or books would've never been made. We would still be at FF 1.

The reason most games don't have sequels is because 60 to 75 percent of them are average or just shit. Good games get sequels. People considered FF1 a good game thus sequels were released. Just because some people don't want certain games to be sequeled, doesn't mean they don't want any games to be.

Yeah, I know the theory about that, its just I tired of all the recent complaining about Sequels and Prequels as of late.

Maybe it's because FF 13 has been delay or just taking to long to be released

the other problem with sequels is it is so hard to keep it close to the original, I do not know about you, but I hated X-2 and it was such a disappointment, it revealed next to nothing, as well it was nothing like X and the characters were portrayed completely different, it was just a way for square enix to make some money to fund XII, and a prequel would be pointless, because if you played as auron, or jecht we already know what happens and if you played as tidus again, all you would do is play blitzball, I think it was a good thing they left it were it was, The only thing that i would want to see is some extra content for it like new airship locations, but even that is incredibly far fetched, i wouldn't expect to see that until the remake ten, which is very likely since they have remade all the games up to six, in some form. And even then unlikely

Amen to the VII remake... (People (the rabid fans) want NOTHING NEW.. other than graphics O_O which is kind of impossible)

If it needs a sequel it gets one...
If they can milk you from sequels and prequels (VII Compilation) they will do so.... (to be fair, CC was good imo)
If a new numeral is coming out.. that's the way of life....
If people bitch about it.... the cash still goes in

And yes to the X-2 being crap...... lucky I got it cheap

i would agree with the remake of VII and nothing new would need to be added in VIII either, but the fact that all the remakes have been for different platforms is rather discouraging, as well as the fact that sqaure enix does everything possible not to adress a final fantasy VII remake. Which even if it were to happen i bet it wouldn't be until a year or two after XIII is fully released, meaning the US, so where looking at 2012, I think that they will view it as a release between XIII and the imminent XIV, and all that said I don' know how likely it is for the ps3 even though it would sell like mad

I'd buy it... boy would I.... (put some stuff in from CC Zack <3)

Half the gaming community would die if SE suddenly announced VII remake (And it's real not a hoax)

Maybe SE wanna just eliminate this and just announced the whole FNC together so they don't get nagged about it not fitting in with the universe or w/e (meh not likely but w/e)

the premise behind x-2 wasn't that bad, like yuna longing to find tidus and hunting for spheres, but it was really marred by...how whored up she got, lol. and that it was all like "omg cutesy pop time!" like really? no.

but the gameplay was really fun and I actually liked the dresspheres, lol.
So I'd say it was a good sequel in terms of gameplay/innovation with the dressphere/class system...but that the whole popstar feel to it was really out of place/whack.

X-2 was the biggest waste of space ever made, along with the entire compilation of FFVII, which are all the best advertisements for the abolishment of the entire idea of sequels that aren't planned at the conception of the original game.
