Star Ocean The Last Hope Controversy.

Yeah that's right people. There is now controversy with SO: TLH. So i'm going to tell you why. According to Gamekyo.com Square-Enix is altering content in the North American version of the game. View the examples below.

They changed the HUD pictures from Anime to CG for US gamers. They also changed the cutscenes pictures to show the characters emotion when they talk. Alot of people don't like this move from SE but I personally think it looks fine, if not better. Yeah I like Anime, but you can't tell me you don't like those CG pictures.

I do hope they don't change any in-game content, like cut scenes or any dungeons. But people...It is only a damn picture. If you don't like it, then just don't buy it.

First day buy for me as Star Ocean is a very good series.

I have to say, the US menus are far better. No question.

I don't really care either way as far as the CG/Anime portraits go though. Probably a slight preference toward the anime style just based on the second-to-last picture - I'm not crazy about CG getting used on the character labels for text. It doesn't seem to make that big of a difference, but I can see where people may be upset.

I'd pick up the game for sure if it was on the PS3. I'd rather avoid getting games for my brothers' 360 (still holding out for a ToV port, but I'm not sure how much longer I'll wait).

I much prefer the CG portraits. Its more consistant with the look of the rest of the game as opposed to anime, unlike TOV where the whole game has an anime look.

^Yeah Tales of Vesperia I can understand but not so much for a CG RPG.

Depends on your preference really, not really controversial. I like the Anime look slightly more, doesn't mean I don't like the CG.

I actually prefer them to use both CG and Anime style and integrate it equally into everything. Either way, I love both!

Still, the only thing that I don't find too appealing is the CG icons for in battle. Anime definitely looks better.

Personally, I think the CG looks trashy and I always prefer character portraits to be anime/art rather than CG, like in FF.

I've been reading on VGChartz, and alot of the people are crying because they are switching the anime, and they claim to be "canceling their preorders." Which would be totally stupid as this game will be great, just like the others.

I like the CG better. It makes the game seem this gen. I'd understand the complaining if it didn't translate well, but it did so excellently.

The graphics are just eye candies to look at. they are a little bit too anime-ish tho.
