I agree. But they're certainly waiting until the last minute to fix things. I don't know whether to appreciate that they're actually giving us footage, or be annoyed that they've left so many rough edges.
I don't think they're gonna get much better, so don't get your hopes up, because it's gonna be finished soon anyhow. It releases this year in Japan, and that means it's probably coming to a close soon. The rest of the wait will probably be simply play testing and bug fixing, and marketing.
What's debatable? That picture is not CG, you can tell from the buttons on his shirt.
If you want graphics better than that, honestly, get a thousand dollar PC.

LOL I wasn't talking about the image you posted. We've just been debating on all the graphics-bit, thinking it'll be better later, or thinking it'll not be fixed and what-not. Don't get me wrong, I love the graphics to the game.
Dunno, I thought it looked fecking amazing, but I'd imagine it to be a bit scaled down, because if it's multiformat, they can't have it looking better on one console, and not the other, because if they did that, one of the corporations (my guess Microsoft) would be a bit peed, and want to know why they've made it better on their competitors console.
Also, judging by the scale of things, it'll probably take up a huge ass amount of disk space anyway, so I think they've done well for getting it to look as good as it does now.
Maybe we'll see slight improvements with Versus though, seeing as that's only on PS3, but we'll see.
I personally don't feel that Final Fantasy games need to get any better graphically than what they are now though. It needs to keep its own style, rather than becoming ultra realistic looking.
Remember they have to cap the graphics in order for it to be compatible w/ the Xbox. Verses is going to be the real FFXIII game to look forward to, I think the graphics will be much better, but what do I know, it's just my op.
They mentioned that the PS3 version won't suffer from the game going multi-platform. They said that they're optimizing the game for the PS3, THEN they'll work on the porting to the 360.
Well if they haven't showed the full potential of the graphics, then they had bloody well better start soon, because I found NOTHING appealing in what I saw.
Vagille's hand looked like it had been ripped directly from FFX. That's just unacceptable. There is no dancing around it. It shouldn't happen.

And people with anti-gravity-snap-action-activated machines and dog-ish hounds appearing from what looks like data blocks is realistic?
As I post on thread before in the forum (I remember at the thread "Comparison between Crystals tools and Unreal Engine"),. I have guess the early trailer is render by a software eg. maya but not a PS3 (pre-rendered). In this new trailer It give more solid-proof that the graphic is not as good as FF7AC(battle) because of Global Illumination [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_illumination] cannot be maximize in Crystal Tools.
(Extra Note: To render photo realistic Image it took a lot of time in PC per Image (averange 30 minits to ~ 5 hours | depend on the setting |per frame). Then how about PS3 ?

First off, you basically know diddly squat about Versus aside from the two trailers shown.
Second... No. FFXIII will be the real Final Fantasy to look for, because it's more of you know... Final Fantasy.
And what is this shit about it being better because the "graphics will be much better." So suddenly graphics make the game great and nothing else? I'll go throw away my Final Fantasy 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and 12 then.
Btw, FFXIII's graphics are way more impressive than Versus. Have you not seen the in-game screenshots? I think you might want to.
