What are the goals for this year for PlayStation?
Stringer: I think it's 6 million units by the end of the quarter, worldwide. And then we have got the European launch in April, which is very important to us. I think we have 20 games out there. I assume we're going to increase the number of games.

Though, it would be pointless to push a release date back by a month i cant imagine what they can be getting done in that short amount of time. He's probably just an idiot though. He says "I think" alot in that interview. Also, is he saying that he assumes there are going to be more PS3 games? ...No shit fucktard.
Update: Mr. Stringer better watch what he says especially when it's about the PS3 launch in Europe. In this GamesIndustry.biz post, some Sony rep tried clearing up rumors about yet another delayed PS3 launch. Sony's spokesperson's said that the console will be launched in March - not April - and that suggestions (interpretations?) regarding Mr. Stringer's statement are incorrect.
Now that this one's all cleared up, let's head on to another rumor: March 23, 2007 may be the actual launch date for Europe. Sony hasn't confirmed this one, but folks should expect SCEE to make an announcement sometime next week.
I dont care anymore anyway. It should have been november 17. I wait.

A SCEE spokesperson has told GamesIndustry.biz that PlayStation 3 is still on track to launch in Europe in March, despite suggestions from Sony CEO Howard Stringer that it will be here in April.
wtf i cant wait much longer , i swear the release date is march 07 for EU iv already pre-ordered for that date
sony you b**tards whats up with your friggin delays, first it was initially meant to be launched november, then it moved to march now april next it will be 2008!!!

I'd definatly import it if it did get delayed...it's soo much cheaper to import aswell but then again old PS2 and PS1 games wouldn't work on it. DVD's and Blu-ray discs would though.
That really stinks!! I already have one, but I just thought I'd share my opinion on this.
Sony hasn't been fair with a lot of things lately. Only releasing 400,000 units in the US was totally unfair! I got lucky though and got mine within 2 weeks, because I work at a game store. Well, I used to anyway. I let it go though. Didn't pay enough. Anyway, people over here were fighting, shooting each other, following people to their home and then robbing them, stabbing people, etc. It was crazy!! I heard on the radio that a PS3 went for $30,000 on ebay too, about a week after they came out. That is just plain CRAZY!!!! Sony needs to straighten up before more people get hurt. One college student had stolen a PS3 from his campus. Police offcers then approached the house he was staying at. Knocked on the door, the college student opened the door. He was holding one of the PS3's wireless controllers and police thought it was a gun, so they shot him. He was killed. It wasn't the police officers' fault, they were protecting themselves from what looked like a gun, but if Sony had of produced more PS3's, then that incident could have not happened. *sigh* So many crazy things happen. The world can be a crazy place.

To all interested according to Dante, PS3 preorders in the UK at GAME could begin this week, maybe even tomorrow. I for one am gonna phone up as soon as the preorders start Good Luck to everyone else!
well, this april news was before the date was published, wich is march 23. I was a little raged at first, but calmed down when the artard had just blabbered a little to much (he was probably a little drunk...or high on some forbidden stuff) and as for me, I pre-ordered in the local gaming store.

All I can say is Europe and Australia have 30 titles during the launch window(week before and after launch), now it is your opinion if they are good or not which in my opinion less then half are worth playing.

Though alot of the titles suck and I can safely say I'm not going to ever even read a review about the Transformers game there are at least 20 something titles. Can't wait for new titles later this year though

I wait until a prise drop now. The cost of a PS3 in Norway has risen from 5500 to 6000. No way I'm paying £487 or 958 USD. You think your PS3 is expensive? STFU!!!
