I know in X-2 and XII they we're removed and possibly replaced with other things, or just left it, but I liked it the old fashion way in FFX where you got hit enough times or delt enough damage, etc you could unleash a (for the most part) powerful special attack. Who else misses them?
I might probably move this to FF depending on how it goes. I don't see how it has to do with Versus. I do personally hope there's no Overdrive thing in Versus. Didn't much like FFX's battle system.

I played Vagrant Story and enjoyed FF Tactics. That is why I love FFXII.

FFX Was Sorta Like An Normal Battle System. Personally I Hope FFVXIII Has SOMETHING Like Overdrives, Like A Mode Where Your Strength And Stuff Is Increased.

I would like Limit Breaks in some form (preferably a new one, as has been the pattern) in XIII but without knowing much at all about Versus' battle system it's hard to say whether they belong there or not.
I would like the Limit Breaks to be better done than in XII equivalent too.
Yeah overdrives where AWESOME!! I mean the power it made me feel that i had.... and the luck when I wud get one just intime b4 the boss owns me... ahhh good times.

Most ff games have a spesical type of attacks, overdrives were only on ffx. I could just put that game on if i felt like i missed them lol. but i guess u mean all the types of spesical attacks if i was limit breaks, overdrives , or what ever.
I will of course id like to see something like that in the new games, i think in ff xiii their will be an overclock thing(?) that works like an overdrive so i think in the end i wont nedd to miss any overdrives XD

Yes, but Overclock is only for XIII as of right now. There is no news of any sort of special attack, etc in Versus. FFX is probably my favourite FF game. I liked being able to have time to think of what to do next, and the bosses we're always a challange to beat compared to most boss fights nowadays in games like Resistance 2.
I was also a fan of limit breaks from FF7.... Though the overdrive implemented some decent customization options, I have never really been a fan of timing slots and reals and such myself (though the overdrive bar wasn't bad, I hated Wakka's slots). But the option to change how the bar builds was an excellent addition even if some of the options seemed less than desirable.... So I'd like to basically see a cross between limit breaks and overdrives.... If the combat does indeed feel much like Kingdom Hearts, it'd be nice for the "Limit" to be able to be quick triggered with a modifier much like quick spells were because my biggest pet peave was always moving the cursor to Ars Arcanum, then noticing something else on the screen I wanted to first wasting time moving back again.... That's like nearly 2 precious seconds lost there....

I hope they have something similar to Overdrives, but like people have already said we don't really know how Versus's combat system works so there's no telling whether they'll have them yet.
They usually have some sort of special attack though so there's a fair chance we'll see something similar in Versus. Let's just hope they arn't as shite as Quickenings...
Yes, I hated Tifa's, but I just never used her.... And I'm sure we can all agree that quickenings need to filed away as a failed concept and move forward....

If the system used by Birth By Sleep works the way it looks like it does (special modes triggered by attacking enough in short succession without getting hit), I'd think a system like that would be neat. It seems to neatly skirt the two biggest problems with special moves - first, that they tend to end up being either uncontrollable or saved up for boss battles, and second, that they can interfere with other moves (quickenings are the worst offender here - they steal your MP, which is generally more useful than the quickening itself).
Though something that involves multiple characters acting in unison would also be rather awesome - it'd fit in with the theme of bonds, at least.

The Overdrives where stupid. X's battle system was good.
X-2's battle system was amazing.
XII's was just bad.
