Square Enix developer Hiroshi Takai has given a big endorsement to Microsoft's console, stating that it's "a lot easier" to work with than the PS3.
Speaking in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine UK, the Last Remnant director said he's crossing his fingers that his next project will be on the Xbox 360.
"It's been the team's first time working with Xbox 360 and the Unreal Engine," he said. "In both cases the experience has been a positive one. In fact, as we've only just finished work on Last Remnant I don't even know what my next project is going to be at Square Enix. However, I'm very much hoping it'll be for Xbox 360 as it's been a lot easier to work with than PlayStation 3."
It's not the first time the RPG powerhouse has sent Xbox its love; Star Ocean and Infinite Undiscovery are both on Microsoft's box, and of course Final Fantasy XIII is finally confirmed for the box.
Pretty much common knowledge that the PS3 is harder to program. If The Last Remnant on 360 was easier the PS3 version is going to be a fucking huge mess.
Im not surprised. The ps3 is to advanced and too powerful for game developers. Which is why they r porting to the 360 its l ast gen and it still has good graphics so they use it instead. Sony needs smarter people that can program games for a console like ps3. Heavy Rain is an example of the ps3's ablity when more than 30% of its power is used and so is Killzone 2. Killzone 2 is only 60%. Some people like a challenge. I think Sony release ps3 waaaaaaay too early. But then again they had to cause the ps2 was losing sales to the 360. But sooner or later in the next 2-3 years people will realise that as good as the 360 is..unforntunatly, its at its limit.
Im pretty much positive that microsoft has another console in the making too, when developers start to be able to manage the ps3 microsoft will need to step up their game. but i dunno if they will create something as powerful as the ps3 in time.
When peoeple complain about the price of things it annoys me cause ur getting what ur paying for. the xbox is in no way cheaper since u have to buy so many add-ons when the ps3 all ready has them built and even online is free but u have to pay with xbox. I think the xbox is a test for microsoft to see what they can do. They certainly didnt miss any extra ways to make money.
I own neither console btw. Ive done TONS of research to figure which to buy and im going with ps3, its the safer choice.

The 360 is not last gen, its current gen.
And as many devs had said, its starting to work with the PS3 thats hard, and I think some of Sony's prize devs have released tool kits to help program for it.
Yeah and The Last Remnant was such a great game too
(5.3 out of 10 on IGN / 6.5 on gamespot)
I agree with the laziness factor, if the guys would take the time to figure out how the PS3 works they would be making games that didn't glitch a lot, and that looked really good and played well, and they wouldn't be limited because they could use blue ray, instead of 2-6 disks.
But yeah Dev kits should help.
I don't know. I'm just disappointed that I have this powerhouse in my living room and it seems like nobody is up to the challenge to use the damn thing to most or all of its power, in order to make mind blowing games. I really hope SE doesn't start becoming a lazy ass gaming industry that starts looking for shortcuts to make games that are half decent, instead of trying to figure out all of the systems and pushing each of them the best they can with their games. *is slightly irritated*

Not that I want to throw poo all over the PlayStation 3, but it's a tad bit improper to say they're lazy to figure out how to do game programming on the system. The PS3's Cell processor is a thing that's a tough rock to crack. I mean, six synergistic cores (originally eight, but one is used for the OS and the other is locked-up, I forgot what for) aren't something you just easily unchart and program in the blink of an eye. Besides, the Cell wasn't something made only for the PS3, as the Xenon Processor was for the XBox 360. Many supercomputers and other heavy-processing-power-depending hardware also make use of the Cell processor, so it gives you an idea of how hard it is to mess with it. Of course, when we manage to find out some stuff about it, we get graphical and powerful gems like Heavy Rain and Metal Gear Solid 4. But it's like some people here said, the PS3's programming mysteries are going to be unfolded, and by then, it's true potential will be unleashed (and Microsoft and Nintendo will absolutely need to have another system ready to compete with it). But for now, the better we do is wait for this little piece of hardware to be more studied and things be discovered about it, although anyway the only plus we're getting with the unfolding of the mysteries of the PS3 hardware is better framerate/graphics etc. Not that this is a bad thing, of course.

It's easier to make unfinished games and send them out to people who pay over 60 fucking dollars. God this generation SUCKS. I would gladly take back last gen.

ASDFA. Do you really think everyone wants to make brilliant/perfect games to everyone's delights? Please, all they want is to cash in with it. Take as an example Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World for the PS2. It's just Budokai 3 with three or four extra characters, PLUS some things that were cut off from Budokai 3 itself. Released only for the purpose of quick extra dollars.
Of course there are the obvious exceptions.

Why the hate? I'm a sad panda. It's in no way a masterpiece but it's also not as shitty as reviewers are scoring it. Installed on you Harddrive this game is the next best JRPG this gen. (Valkyria Chronicles being the best by a longshot.) Even LO's framerates are worse than this. And it has the best battle system of them all. You may ofcourse have your own opinion, but the hate makes me .
Forget the game, they're talking about the tech, and the tech issues are all over the place in The Last Remnant. They're saying the 360 is easier to work with but can't even get it to work properly.
So yeah I totally agree, people this gen are getting more and more lazy... Its gonna sad really But wait til Heavy Rain comes out and other games from developers that arent freakin lazy. Then they will see the ps3's full power mwahahaha.
Like I always say. I believe the 360 will but out of business in the next 1-2-3 years. So ps3 is the cheaper,( I see cheaper cause microsoft is a smart company and people don't realise how much money they r actually spending on a 360, with extras on online play), safer longer lastin option, the ps3 has i looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go.

It did when I played it. If I had not installed the game on my HDD I would never have completed it. It had the worst loading times ever.
The Last Remnant suffers from a few loading times, but they are not worse than any other turnbased RPGs out there. You face an enemy and the screen goes black and then you start the battle like LO. Only Lo has loading times that killed me before I installed it.
I wonder: Have you even played TLR?
Both games are enjoyable as long as you install them. Both of them are also unplayable if you do not install them. In my opinion.

I have to agree with him on this. LO's loading times were RIDICOULOUS. I would gladly accept the frame rate problems over a 20 second load screen every fight. Don't get me wrong LO is a good game...but damn.
Well the PS3 is a computer system technically, you can do alot more with it but like a recent poster said it is harder to work with, I give the ps3 and game developers at least another year to get Stella her groove back.
