apparently the story is really tragic and sad and the main themes of the game are bonding and frienship. well thats what the creators stated in an interview.
And to anyone who thought the main character looked depressed on the throne at the beginning of the trailer he wasnt he was jus resting/sleeping and was disturbed/awoken by some sound outside.

Well the actual storyline we have so far is mostly the background but yes it is supposed to be really tragic and make us cry He does look like hes just been disturbed and when he gets up and see's all his dead (what we assume) friends or guards he doesnt look really depressed, just straight faced. Well I actually can't imagine what the game is actually going to involve. Obviously fighting off enemies trying to get a crystal but I dont know what else could happen, we need more story
Yeah he doesn't appear to have much emotion at all. He pretty much keeps a straight face the whole time. Even when he grabs the sword and lunges towards the enemy he still has almost no emotion while he is doing it. Of course being a Square Enix game the guy will probably go through events and change and develop into a slightly better person. Maybe, a lot of square games have lots of character development in them. It's the reason why we love them so much.
well...im not one to say much...but maybe the protagonist is, in a way, similar to Cloud from Advent Children...however, from what i hear, he might have some sort of an emotional background...who knows?
cloud was sorta allways thinking about his emotions which made him neva listen to people and he was slightly weak in his emotional state only,
i think the main character of this game dosent seem like his gonna be like cloud in personality, he might be arrogant but not as emotionally weak as cloud.
I don't know that guy seems pretty powerful. I dont remember starting out any FF games where the main characters were really powerful and has that many weapons. Maybe he loses all but one of those weapons at the beginning of the game. Maybe those weapons are the source of his powers?
The strongest character I remember starting off with in a FF game was Cecil at level 10. Well Ramza was level 11 before the flashback but you could get him higher then that in the flashback(his level changes to reflect this) so if you count Tactics, Ramza.
Have you guys checked the updates on ign.com? See just as I said, from the trailer I got the impression that he is too powerful, and they said you dont start out with all those weapons. They also said his eyes change colors during combat, and it is possible to change to other colors like green, that is fucking cool.
One point of interest in the trailer regards the main character's eyes and features, which seem to change based on his moves. During battle, his eyes are red, and when he darts from place to place, his hair flashes white. Director Tetsuya Nomura revealed to the magazine that, while nothing has been confirmed, it's possible that his eyes will change to other colors as well, including green.

I think its more to it. It's plausible, but its somehow don't feel right that the crystals can alter the body like that.
(in other FF games, yes, but it dont feel right this time)

If hes body is like a ghost teleportation (If the blue stuff attached to his weapon is a crystal and he can teleport to where his sword is) and changing hair is plausible.

maybe if these crystals CAN alter his powers and appearance...
