This is incredible. In all seriousness, this news is so significant my eyes are watering. It seems that all signs point to Mars being able to host life at least four billion years ago, plus there are new Eathlike planets being discovered. Humans are reaching further into space than ever before, and discovering new things as they go. I really don't like where this is going.
By now it should be widely known that the soil of Mars is fertile enough to grow plants in. This suggests one thing and heralds two others. This and other pieces of information could indicate that Mars not only held life at one point, but also that every animal on this planet is descended from wayward microbes that once lived there.
Imagine what Mars would have looked like, if indeed it had once been as fertile as Earth. Canyons several kilometres high, with rivers as deep as our oceans, and the land covered in healthy forest.
I think that by looking at Mars, we're looking at Earth's future.
(I think this is more an 'I've-been-up-for-25-hours' rant)
It shouldnt be to big a surprise that organisms did at one time live upon Mars, and that the planet could eventually support life once again in the far future. Proof of water is evident, and water that has been deep-frozen for who knows how long was discovered. Just have the fun task of figuring out how to make the entire eco-system, which does not exist, spring up from nothing, an terraform the entire world into an inhabitable place....We know we can get there, just no way in hell we have that technology to terraform an entire planet. btw Rep Mars, Green Mars and Blue Mars are great science fiction books that have fun with the terraforming Mars theorys, if ya want the "what ifs" xD

Hmm I think it's great that we know this but I think we should be 1. figure a way to fix the environment or 2. look at another planet, thats far enough from the sun to support life when the sun turns huge, sure we got a couple of billion years but I think we should advance our technology, as long as it doesn't kill us... you know... I won't live as long as that but I want the human race to be strong and live as long as possible xD
haha, i was watching Jimmy Neutron today. they showed the episode where he goes to mars. the silicon-based aliens were rocks. reason for that was that they drained their water sources.
but on a serious note, there could be life outside of the planet...who knows...

Wow...that's amazing. I always did know that humans were getting more advance when it comes to space and the other planets and stuff. I heard that they are trying to find different planets that we can all possibly live on (you know, just in case the Earth dies sooner then we think). Mars really is an interesting planet isn't it? The universe is very complex because there can be many other planets out there that we have not yet discovered. The article about Earth's Twin really catches my interest though. I had no idea 'super Earths' existed. But its nice to see that astronomers are making so many new and efficient discoveries. Who knows, maybe they'll find aliens next? Or discover a black hole to another universe one day?

I actually started creating a concept for a book nearly a year ago called Razengard. Guess what it's about, lol.
... It's set on Mars, thousands of years before human history began. That's all I can say right now xD
I imagine that in 500 years, the animals of Earth will finally meet our 'neighbours'. Astronomy's come so far since it was created about 3000 years ago, imagine what it'll be like in 2500.
What a coincidence!!!
I saw a documentary about life in Mars yesterday. They basicly said same things than IBeatSephirot. They said too that there the Mars face is an ilusion and that there isnt pyramids in Mars. lol One interesting thing is that 2/3 of robots that went to Mars dissaperar there.( Secret Files music)
I heard too that is possible to transform Mars in a planet similar to Earth. The only thing humanity should do is launching CO2 to the atmosfere and put cianobactreies there. In a matter of millions of years Mars would look similar to Earth
It seems like they've been trying to put something together that will come together in a degree of humans being able to live on another planet but to be honest, ther's still way too many complications to even begin to think about it.

I saw a vireo on discovery channel on how that would look. It looks very similar to Earth.
Still, IF that happened we wouldn't REALLY prove that there is other life on Mars. We'd be the ones to spawn life. There would still be religious arguments and such unfortunately!
It has been discovered that there are 2 water streams , and there are also 20 of volcano' shafts.
Moreover , the information also said beides the approximate numbers of pictures taken from Mars for 240,000 indicate the evidence of revolution that has been occured on Mars's surface clearly , such as the picture of wall of volcano's shaft's mouth which had taken since 1991 and when compared to the picture that was taken from 2004, you'll see that the brightly white color that looks like bird feather's tone at the mouth of volcano's shaft , when it was maginified closer and closer so you can see the water stram lines.
On the contrary, due to the fact that Mars' atmosphere is too rare and the temperature is strongly cold , the water cannot stand in the form of liquid , and cannot evaporate. But it just turns in to the form of solid immeadiately. However , the evidence of the pictures taken from Mars are found clearly that in 'occasionally' the water can flow through the Mars's surface , when there's water , there's heat energy , so it has possibilities to generate 'life'.
And it has discovered that there's Methane in Mars which the scientists postulate that it comes from the geological terms , that it has possibilities started from whatever's generated on volcanoes to the effect from the comet falling into the Mars and spreaded Methane in the atmosphere.
In my idea , i believe that in the future the humans can live on Mars , but it needs other factors to involve ehich is the basic essentials. And the distance between Sun and Mars is further than Earth's , we need to have heat , the heat is the major factor and it can deal with the water's state.
Think progressive , nothing's impossible

Maybe the comet that they metion was actually a chunk of the meteor that hit us and some of hit may have ricocheted off and went towards Earth.
Man that progressive slogan is so cheap that I like it.
