Default World's End

Oh umm everybody should know about year 2012. While most of you might think it's another religious belief, in fact it's NOT. Most of the predictions are based by science. Religion is just adding themselves there (cuz I guess they finally are believing what science says), but they add it in a form of God and such Reinassance which is obviously bullshit. Listen to science only.

Interesting articles:

[got this from another forum which got it from somewhere else and so on... i was really to write myself]

1. Mayan Calendar

The first mob to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a bloodthirsty race that were good at two things:

Building highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and
Sacrificing Virgins.

Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The Mayan calendar predicts that the Earth will end on December 21, 2012. Given that they were pretty close to the mark with the lunar cycle, it's likely they've got the end of the world right as well.

2. Sun Storms

Solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery: our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic, and it's supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the Earth with so much radiation energy, it's been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse, and calculations suggest it'll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012

3. The Atom Smasher

Scientists in Europe have been building the world's largest particle accelerator. Basically its a 27km tunnel designed to smash atoms together to find out what makes the Universe tick. However, the mega-gadget has caused serious concern, with some scientists suggesting that it's properly even a bad idea to turn it on in the first place. They're predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. So when this machine is fired up for its first serious experiment in 2012, the world could be crushed into a super-dense blob the size of a basketball.

4. The Bible says...

If having scientists warning us about the end of the world isn't bad enough, religious folks are getting in on the act aswell. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between Good an Evil, has been set down for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings.

5. Super Volcano

Yellowstone National Park in the United States is famous for its thermal springs and Old Faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple - it's sitting on top of the world's biggest volcano, and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and we're many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the Earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. The pressure under the Yellowstone is building steadily, and geologists have set 2012 as a likely date for the big bang.

6. The Physicists

This one's case of bog-simple maths mathematics. Physicists at Berekely Uni have been crunching the numbers. and they've determined that the Earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Even worse, they're claiming their calculations prove, that we're all going to die, very soon - while also saying their prediction comes with a certainty of 99 percent- and 2012 just happens to be the best guess as to when it occurs.

7. Slip-Slop-Slap-BANG!

We all know the Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field that sheilds us from most of the sun's radiation. What you might not know is that the magnetic poles we call north and south have a nasty habit of swapping places every 750,000 years or so - and right now we're about 30,000 years overdue. Scientists have noted that the poles are drifting apart roughly 20-30kms each year, much faster than ever before, which points to a pole-shift being right around the corner. While the pole shift is underway, the magnetic field is disrupted and will eventually disappear, sometimes for up to 100 years. The result is enough UV outdoors to crisp your skin in seconds, killing everything it touches.

Don't be silly, everyone knows that the end of the world is tomorrow It all starts in Switzerland...

Well, I hope you're wrong, because if you're right, I've wasted my entire life going to school. Could you possibly post the source, please? It's just that this is the kind of thing I'd have read about somewhere before, this is probably the most unlikely place for anyone to hear something like this

Honestly, I think it sounds a bit propaganda-ish, though that could be me being too optimistic

I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Oh there are too many sources, from Yahoo News, AOL News or such big sites. Just google "2012 Apocalypse" and it will come up.

Funny that this has been brought up, as I heard off someone today that this week scientists will be conducting an experiment to create a blackhole up in space to see if it will close afterwards. If it doesn't, we're pretty much dead. Now I don't really believe this, as first off, I doubt our governments would let an experiment take place that could end up destroying the entire planet. Second of all, even if it did close, so what? What will it prove, and what will it do for us? Would our governments really spend billions and billions of dollars on an experiment that doesn't even have much application if it works, and will probably destroy us if it doesn't? Has anyone else heard about this?

If the world is due to end in 2012, I just hope that Versus XIII will have come out before then

Yes, it's happening tommorrow in Switzerland at 10 There's only a 1 in 5 billion chance of it killing us all though.

Thanks iPhantom , I've done that and there's whole websites dedicated to it

He actually has some points, it's not explained in detail but there are some valid points in there though, Of course everytime you wake up theres a 1 in 20,000 chance of an asteroid 1 mile across or larger will hit the earth so, lol.

EDIT
I don't believe the world will end in 2012 but there is always the chance, course the world could end tomorrow lol.

Their not actually creating a black hole. The accelerator will crash together protons to produce a miniature version of the big bang to get closer to the truth.A truth which corresponds to the way the world is.I don't know where you got the idea that they were "going to create a black hole as their primary objective". Of course the fantasist's could be correct and the scientists could be so convinced in their own objectivity that were all gona be fucked.

We're not going to die from the LHC.

If it was up to Jehovah's Witnesses the world apparently was going to end several times over by now. The Mayan calender thing is quite silly too. There's a lot of things that can wipe us out completely, but hey if Quantum Immortality is true then we'll be OK... I think?

Don't forget Olympics... but the end will come on 21st December based on predictions so they will have finished by then.

And we will have finished FFXIII: Versus too. I think it's a good way to end the world
