Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIII will have a party battle system (say good bye to Rambo-like Lightning seen in the trailer), where you control each character as they switch turns, like in previous Final Fantasy games. The system, however, will be totally different from Final Fantasy XII. Final Fantasy XIII’s story is being written such that every single of the main characters will feel like protagonists, instead of just supporting characters (say good bye to meaningless character such as Penelo ).
New char:A high-ranking commander with blonde hair working for the Holy Government. She has been seen using a high powered sniper rifle. She is also seen interrogating the captured pigtailed girl
Final Fantasy Verus XIII
Nomura however wanted us to know that Final Fantasy Versus 13 will be "more like a traditional Final Fantasy game than FF13, in Versus 13 you travel across mountains, ocean, wandering in dungeons and battle with summon beasts and so on."
What you think? Personally im happy because its comfirmed that ff13 has a party system.
I m confused about versus...more traditional than XIII?
when he says "Final Fantasy Versus 13 will be more like a traditional Final Fantasy game than FF13, in Versus 13 you travel across mountains, ocean, wandering in dungeons and battle with summon beasts and so on." he means the theme of it will refer to more past FF games,
*like having a world map (remember the days of the over world map of FF 1-9?)
though being that the PS3 is super duper powerful, it wont be all small house represents a city or village
you'll actually be able to view a large scaled location from the over-world map (i believe so)
* and also you'll be able to manually pilot an airship
stuff like the days before 10, but more renovating and refreshing
I was so happy to hear that the world map was back. I loved that part of the games pre FFX. This "more-traditional" news increases my anticipation for FFv13

What Nomura said is kind of fucked up to me.
XIII has Dungeons, Caves and forests (Lower Level of Cocoon, Higher Level and Pulse) and now after what Toriyama said in that interview Huge Map bigger than previous FF's. He pretty much confirmed Versus will have this as well. The only non-traditional thing about these 2 games is the Setting and the Gameplay. XIII isn't going to be like XII sped-up.. unless I missed something some where
yes I copy and pasted

I wonder if this blonde character will be another protagonist then?
well it says she was seen interrogating the pig tailed girl, so I'm going to go with no, lol. At least at first...for all we know she could be one of those characters that starts as a villain and ends as an ally.
I'm excited now...the interrogation intrigues me!
I'm so excited about all the characters getting equal or sufficient attention!

I already knew about the commander and Versus world detail, but I only very slightly suspected the battle system. From what's been seen in the trailers, the battle system looks like you can't randomly leave it sitting, waiting for commands and that you have to keep an eye on what's going on. I'm sure others have said this before, but characters probably won't just hang around in one spot during fights.
The very fact that each character is getting equal treatment makes me a little more excited about the games. One full storyline per person in the party is fantastic and should extend the replayability and life of the games. Interrogation makes me think that XIII will have a more political setting, with an army thrown in maybe. It'd be neat to see how Square carrys it out, though.
I think I can see what Square-Enix is doing with this compilation: They're making something for everyone. Don't like the turn-based battle system but still like FF? Play Versus. Only have a handheld? Agito for you. Want an action-packed traditional battle system? XIII. Got wide tastes? Get all three (or more) games.
Final Fantasy XIII’s story is being written such that every single of the main characters will feel like protagonists, instead of just supporting characters
This is what interests me the most out of all the recent info. I've wanted to see this in an FF game for so long! There always seem to be some characters that are there just to make up the numbers, so hopefully this time everyone will feel like an integral part of the storyline and actually have a valid role.
Another girl in FF13? Jeez, is the blonde guy on an amazon planet or something? Wouldn't surprise me though, considering how much of a dyke Lightening is she's right up there with Paine. You can totally tell it's Yoshinori Kitase work lol
