I want to be able to automatically organise by brands rather than Number and Psyche. =_= My impression is that it was well done and if I hadn't been curious enough to play it, I'd have the worst opinions on it. It's probably another Square success like Vagrant Story was.

I played Vagrant Story and enjoyed FF Tactics. That is why I love FFXII.

In my opinion, The World Ends With You is definitely one of Square Enix's best original titles.
At first, I wasn't keen on the game. I didn't really like the battle system as it seemed pretty stale, due to the limited amount of pins you begin the game with - however, as you progress through the story and get your hands on more Psyches; the battle system becomes really hectic - and in turn pretty damn fun.
Overall the battle system was pretty good, though you could just stylus slide to win if you really wanted to - the only thing I didn't really like about the battle system is the way that you had to move Neku. It proved a little awkward at times, especially if you wanted to move Neku and ended up spawning fire everywhere.
Storywise, I thought that The World Ends With You was good in that department too. I liked the way that the game fully utilized it's environment (Shibuya), adding trends that effect the battle system and such. Square Enix definitely did a good job pulling off the combination between reality and fantasy (though the entire thing is fantasy, just set in a realistic environment), imo that's probably down to the unique art style - I really love the way that the environments are warped; it adds a really interesting twist to the norm.

Agreed absolutely 100%
I loved every minute of The World Ends with You and it's now become not only one of my favourite DS games but one of my favourite RPG's ever, regardless of machine.
It was just such a breath of fresh air, so full of new ideas and concepts (I especially liked the 'level down' feature, the chain battles and the way your pins gained exp when you weren't playing the game).
The story was absorbing and even had a weirdly powerful moral message and as soon as I finished the game I immediately went back through it to gain all the secret reports - which is definitely worth doing as you find out there were actually many more layers to the story that were only hinted at during the initial playthrough. Rarely have I ever finished an RPG and gone straight back to the start to do it all again, but I did with this game, it was just so addictive.
The game is also full of wonderful characters who deserve to be far more well known, especially the insane maths lunatic Sho Minamimoto who has to be one of the most bizarre yet awesome villains ever.
Im still trying to find this game a ton of people rate this game highly.
Yeah, I've heard that it can be a hard game to find in shops at the moment, your best bet is probably to buy it online from Amazon or somewhere like that.
i have never play this game, but from looking at some gameplay movies its look fine to me, as far as Iam aware its focusing maninly on battles but there is some storyline as well, I dont have DS yet, but I would rather buy DS for KH then for this game

THIS.
I'm still completing Another Day (ahaha omg lol) and getting the secret reports, but at least I finished the main part of the story and I can actually remember to eat and sleep now. VV: Last week that game totally stole my soul, I didn't do anything BUT play it. Pretty sad hahaha.
Anyone who hasn't touched this game is inevitably missing out. Even if I didn't have a list of other games to get for the DS, I would've done what I usually deem stupid and still bought one just for TWEWY, and felt like it was worth every cent.

This game pretty much took over my life for the time I spent playing it too!
When you get all the secret reports, don't forget to go back to the last day and defeat the final boss again. If you do, you'll get an extra scene added to the ending, which is short but definitely worth seeing.
I thought this was an awesome game. Im glad they added the chapter select because this is a game i want to play over and over again. THERE ARE SO MANY FUCKING PINS.
wow, I read you comments of this game, and I am wondering whats so special about this game, I cant make any jugdes by looking at some of the movies, so can someone tell me, what is this game like?
It's a new world, some say it's an action RPG but for me it's a whole new genre, the story takes place in tokyo (I mean the real tokyo) there was no fiction places in the game, I won't spoil it for you but it's about a Reaper's game , the battle system is something new, in battle you control 2 characters .. Neku(the protagonist) and another character, Neku is controllable by the Stylus while the other character moves by using the control pad, there is also a pin where you must shout on the mic to use it , this game uses everything the DS has to offer .. Just buy it ..really , when I first bought it I thought it would be a normal game no addicting ,not much fun,However after playing the game,I think it's one of the best Square-enix Acheivments since Kingdom Hearts 2.

-Excellent characters and character development.
-A story that has many layers and is full of twists, turns, mysteries and surprises.
-An original action battle system that utilises all the features of the DS and that lets you do all kinds of crazy moves and attacks.
-No random battles - you fight as many or as few battles as you want to.
-Great soundtrack that mixes J-pop, guitar rock, rap, hip-hop and has many songs with full vocals.
-Set in the real world (Shibuya,Tokyo) and mixes in various fantasy elements (to kind of steal the line from the FFVersusXIII trailer, this really is a "fantasy based in reality").
-You can change the difficulty at any point during the game, and playing on harder levels increases the rewards you get from battles.
-Great replay value once you finish the game (secret reports, an extra chapter etc)
-Sho Minamimoto (one of the best Square Enix characters ever!)
There's plenty of other reasons, but those will do for now!
One of my favorite games, it's fucking amazing. *____*
