Acne Medication

I've recently got myself prescribed Accutane (Isoretinoin) for acne. A bit of a background story, I've been on some sort of acne control regimen since my final year of highschool, and I'm now going into my third year of university. I was on antibiotics, and it worked amazing, its just that the minute I got off it, I would flare up again. So I sought something with a higher cure rate, and my physician referred a dermatologist. Long story short, I'm on Accutane now and the side-effects are such a bugger. Dry skin, dry eyes, dry nose, chapped lips, dry mouth at times...I have to be on complete control of it. My drinking is limited, so as my sunlight exposure, and the medication even has risk for developing depression. But frankly, I think that the doctors which prescribe it just say that to save their ass, but if you look at the statistics, only so few (if EVER) do people become depressed.

So has anyone else been on any sort of acne medications? or Accutane itself? Make me feel better about the time I'm on this!!! Haha.

I use proactive since the start of grade 12 since my acne got so bad that now i have a noticable scar from it on my right cheek well not so noticable anymore since it lessened after a while but my point is that i have no problem really with acne anymore using proactive but it does cost alot after the first to weeks of registry they boost the cost alot. It doesn't do much for blackheads though i'm still stuck with them
