It just seems odd to me that a game which began on the PS3 would have a new trailer only revealed at the Microsoft Conference. What reason could there have been for Sony not to even mention the title during their press conference? To me, it either feels like Square has a new relationship with Microsoft which they're trying to keep sweet or Sony just doesn't want to bother with (forgive me for overstating this) a betrayal from a loyal partner.
There is the option that Square didn't want to give Sony a trailer but that seems a bit crazy for a game which will almost certainly sell more on their platform. I don't know if companies that large are quite that petty but it just seems strange.
TO it just seemed like logic, whats the point of showing a trailer which was shown at MS Conference when they have other stuff to talk about.
I don't think there is alot of hate to them, the PS3 is still getting Versus XIII exclusive and is still getting XIII anyway. Its a PS3 exclusive in Japan plus i think soon Sony will promoting WKC over FF.
IF anything has happened after yesterday its that Sony know they have to try hard to keep Versus an exclusive.
Sony can't do much about the Final Fantasy now. At E3 all titles was soon to come or new one. They did not include Final Fantasy to tell "We still have it". Square-Enix is still a long time/years from finishing the game and Sony will just wait before they include it in promotions.
Just Look how Killzone 2 had to wait so Resistance 2 Could shine and sell more.

I was shocked when I heard, I thought all the main FF's would stay exclusive. What a bummer, and after they'd been loyal so long...I wonder why they changed now. Did they say why?
I thought it was because of financial problems or at least that's what most people have been claiming. But I can't really blame SE anymore, their choice.
Is Sony really actually pissed or is that a summary of their reaction? They still got Versus.

I played Vagrant Story and enjoyed FF Tactics. That is why I love FFXII.

i contacted them to try and find y they did this here is what they had to say "In regards to why this decision was made, the statement from our parent company in Japan is "We decided to release FF13 on the Xbox360 in order to provide it to more users around the world. As you may know, currently, game console install bases are diversified by region. We believe that we have made the best decision for users as well as for ourselves given that we will be able to provide FF13 to as many users as we can while maintaining features such as high-quality graphics." so apparently they decided to do this just to make it available to other gamers instead of just playstation owners like us which they have done from the start (except spin-offs). I am currently waiting for a reply in regards with versus still being an exclusive i will post the reply as soon as i get it.
although I don't know how much that reaching other gamers thing is really working out. I mean if they want it that badly to begin with they'd probably buy the PS3, although maybe like they said the PS3 isn't as good graphically as the X-Box?

well obviously alot more people now have the option to buy the game that otherwise didnt, that the whole point..as for the graphics thing lets not even get into that war waiting to happen..both have strengths and weaknesses. lets just leave it at that
This may be as simple as, its cheaper to port the game to a 360 then having it just as an exclusive on ps3. If it was just a ps3 exclusive, Square would obviasly have to rely on the sales just on the ps3, and after spending the money to burn their game on BlueRay (alot of $ i assume) now its going multi, its like a safety net for square. Ps3 game sales will still be the same, but on the 360 its pure profit, since all 360 users have been wishing their lives away to get a FFgame on their console.
Has for the processing speed and the graphics, the 1st thing some 360 noob is gona do, is have both consoles load the game up at the same time to prove a point.... meaning the PS3 is slower becouse the game is on a completly different platform interely, and is running the same game, wich program wise is alot bigger and hopefully graphic wise alot better then the 360 port.
So basically everyone is agreeing that Squeenix did it for the dough, and to be honest I also believe that thats the reason as well. As for Sony being pissed off, I don't think thats the case, i just think its cos Sueenix is taking like a million years to complete FFXIII and all the other titles shown have release dates whereas Final Fantasy isn't even anywhere near 50% complete.
Maybe if Sony were to pay them a large sum(to gain a lot of profit) then they'd keep it exclusive. I mean they need money right? So like someone said X-Box can be a guarantee for that since they aren't getting any bling from Sony.

sony has been spending all their money to make the PS3's hardware betteer and making other software for it, so they didnt enough money to keep it ean exclusive.
Ummm, few exclusives are paid for. Also your statement that Sony doesn't have enough money to pay for the exclusivity is bullshit I'm afraid. Sony could pay for whatever they want but what Square-Enix wanted is more sales, not hand-outs.
i just square-enix's reply here is what they said "We hope this letter answers your questions. Thank you for taking the time to write to us. At this time that game will only be released on PS3." so hopefully it will stay like it is.

if they wanted more sales=money y r they only making the 360 version in the u.s, canada, and europe, and NOT japan. so if they wanted more sales explain that then genius

ofcourse the point of the multiplatform announcement was to get more sales and more money..however since the 360 install base in Japan is so tiny, they feel the cost of publishing it in that region is not worth it.
