We got a quite a bad news the girl from the trailer (I prefer to not call her Lightning yet) are not the main character in FFXIII. But then I wonder if the Versus Guy is not the main either. If you look at those two images you can see that they clearly have the same status in the game. Anyone else got the feeling?

I had the same thought. I dont understand why they didnt make it more clear she wasnt the main character. The same pattern could follow to versus. They said the guy was part of the royal family, I know the games dont relate but maybe she could also be part of the family. The picture of her sitting must have some significance.

I think it looks too much like she is the main for them just randomly not to be. All we know about them not being the main roles is just a rumour.

y would they not make her the main character if they made a trailer starting her, there r many pics of XIII all of her, and as for the guy in versus he could be the main character or badguy, just because thoses pic look the same doesnt seem they have the same status

The rumour that shes not the main character *refuses to call her Lightning* came from an interview over on GameFront.de didn't it?

But i've been hearing that it's a miss translation on their part. But we'll just have to see.

But with the guy from Versus, he is the main character, no doubt about that. I haven't re-read it all, but this is where i'm getting it from.

There's no way that their not the main characters. SE wouldn't have made those trailers for secodary characters. Oh and thanks for the article Blue.

Despite the rumours i still think it would be stupid of them to misslead us like that. :/ Whats the point? Unless you play as an amazingly cooler person that they want to hide for some reason? O-o

If she's not the main character then we better get someone like her. Strong independent female, who kicks guys asses who are ten times bigger than her just for fun. And not to mention hot. I'm kind of dissappointed now. I was attached to her in a certain way cause I thought she was the main character. Now she's not. It kind of sucks. Is there any chance that this isn't true?

I'm guessing we'll have a male main character, they said in the scan, they just wanted to show a strong lead female.

She's been refered to as the Heroine enough times, so we already have the main girl.

Am I making any sense?

Yea, they may not mean a woman will be the lead character but a main character instead like a party member. It kinda makes sense. Like Yuna had a very important role in X but she wasnt the main character but that applies to all FF games really.

I'm kind of disapointed if she wouldn't be the lead. So far in my opinion she is much cooler then our last five leads, including secondary such as Yuna or Garnet. I mean she even puts my character in FFXI to shame(sorry Desiderus but you're a bard). They done female leads before I don't see why they wouldn't start off with one in a new generation.

You know she could be one of the main protagonists, you know like Rinoa from FF8, Dagger from FF9, Tifa from FF10 etc. its quite possible to have more than 1 main protagonists, despite what Square says
