It lacked the spirit that other final fantasies gave me, as well as the replayability factor. The music was'nt near as memorable as other final fantasies like FF X and FF VIII. It wasn't all bad though, and in many aspects beat out FF XII because of poor producers. But FF XII more than made up for that in a good story, which FF IX lacks. Also, I did not like the world map and all its fog, and the characters were poor. I hope FF XIII will be as memorable as FF X to compensate for poor development in FF XII and FF IX.

You obviously missed how amazingly brilliant this game is.
FFIX has style, comedy, drama, suspense, romance, and in my opinion an excellent cast of characters. It's like playing a musical without the music. And I remember a lot more music from IX than the other FF's. And the 'fog' on the World Map was really only on Disk 1, after that you explore the rest of the world, and then it even disappears from Alexandria on Disk 2, and remains that way until Disk 4 when it covers the whole planet.
I thought IX was bullshit as well. I hated the characters and the whole graphic style. I finished it once just because it was an numbered Final Fantasy so I felt I should... but on trying to do it again recently I just couldnt care the god awful music and all that other shit that makes it a horrible game.
Shut up. To each our own. I THINK that IX is brillilant in that it wasn't Nomura who did it and carried on the fantasy torch from FFI-VI. I don't need to know anyone else's opinion on mine from here on 'cause there's no right or wrong in opinions anyway but there is no need to say that one's opinion is above all. So... GROW UP.
So we're debating over someone else's opinion overall in this thread anyway?

I played Vagrant Story and enjoyed FF Tactics. That is why I love FFXII.
