Default Bubble heads

Anyone knows why everyone had bigger heads and hands than normal people have. They weren't very large but noticeably big...

Because it was the style of the game maybe. That or I heard something like Amano's art can't be done justice in 3D so they morphed the characters a bit. Since he was the original character designer for that game.

Last I checked, Amano illustrated while there were at least two character designers for the game. Now "why" is a strong question. Asking us "what would you think of why" woulda been better since only the FFIX team can answer a "why" question.

It gives the game a more childish and innocent feel. Which is ironic because at it's core FFIX is one of the most mature and true entries to the series.

If you read into it, you will get alot out of the game. Ignore the purposeful dumbing down in some parts (e.g. the Black Mages at Cleyra) because you've got to remember that this game is for younger audiences too (and with good reason to be, this game affixes some good moral influence to the young that play it).
