Yeah, I have to say, Crystal Tools is nowhere near as cool as White Engine. If they HAD to put Crystals in there, they should have called it the Crystal Engine or something, but why tools? =_=

This is just like the time Nintendo changed the name from "Nintendo Revolution" to "Nintendo Wii". Unlike the name change from Revolution to Wii, I don't think people are gonna get used to this change.

The White Engine sounded just as bad. I feel the "Tools" part is what pushes the Crystal Engine over the edge though. Otherwise they both are extremely corny and you are just blinding yourself to the point you accept names like Cloud and Lightning.

"Crystal Tools"...that is hilarious...lol. If you don't like wii, call it revolution...and if you don't like "Crystal Tools" you can still call it "White Engine" or "Crystal Engine". And if the name is that important then maybe everyone can vote on the name the site will go by...is this a stupid suggestion?

It's not the name that defines the character, protagonist, action, or things, but what these people/things/action will do/say/produce. For all we know Cloud could have been named Bob, Squall as Chris, and Lightning as Christina, need I say more?
These custom made game engines have almost always pumped out at least one final fantasy title, and crystals are an important element of the FF series. Tools are used to make products, so even if they are trying to emphasize the whole Fabula Nova Crystallis theme, the name Crystal Tools seem fitting to me. Of course people are entitled to their own opinions so if you don't like it go ahead and call it the Crystal Engine or whatever like you guys codenamed it. People just shouldn't spazz out and go "Z0MG Crystal Tools/White Engine/TheMooglePlayhouse Square-Enix is trying to coin a fad and brainwash us into thinking whatever name they come up with is cool!?!?!111oneone1one" because that gets stale and moldy pretty fast. Let people do what they like, and like what they do.

I don't mind the title that much in all reality. While 'Tools' does give a bit of connotation of lower quality, it is just basically the White Engine...right?

Well...The White Engine is being used to create Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII, Crystal Tools Engine is the updated version of The White Engine which is the same apart from the fact that it can run on multiple platforms including PC.

You speak as if there's some conspiracy with SE trying to make fictional character names cool, well... they're fictional, what did you expect? There isn't a single cartoon or fictional character who has a name that doesn't suit them, and really, the names people bear in real life don't sound much better. Don't think I've ever liked you from all the other posts I've seen you made, because your posts are stupid, but if anything your argument of your points from the last post cemented the fact that you're quite incapable of making valid arguments... yeah, my post is more poor than yours. That's saying so much, considering you've only said 5 sentences. Yep, that makes a very good argument. Back to the 2nd grade for you.
