Well some of you must have seen that we're going to get a new version of Advent Children available for both DVD and Blu-Ray. At TGS today they compared both versions and of course the Blu-Ray one was better with brighter colours and smoother looking textures (but not a massive difference). The major addition is the new scenes being added to the film. Only one was revealed * in the trailer though. There will be both deleted scenes and new footage in the film but we're unsure if it's going to be small changes or major ones like a directors cut.
I still havent bought Advent Children yet (been watching it round friends houses ) and now i'm glad i didnt! I hope its good! We all knew they couldnt leave FFVII alone again.

The scene where Sephiroth stabs Cloud's shoulder against the wall is changed to include Sephiroth lifting Cloud off the ground by his sword
I haven't brought it either, have a low quality JP rip on my PC since I knew another special edition was coming out. Not to say I would still want all the goodies the jp got with their version.
YAY!!! i wanna get it on on blu-ray!!!!I only have the original advent children on psp, i was planning to but it on dvd eventually but now i can wait!!!
Eh, I already own AC so buying ACC for a few extra scenes and a few re-edited scenes just isn't worth it. Plus it's only avaiable on Blu-Ray so I'd need a PS3 anyway (it's cheaper than whatever those blu-ray players are called). I'm not even sure if it's going to be released in the US, but if it isn't, US and Japan will be sharing the same region for PS3 for anyone who actually wants this movie (that means you can import it).
Yeah I saw those once. It's not much of a difference. Kadaj is holding the materia instead of it being in his arm, Cloud has dirt on him. They didn't make that many changes to ACC.
I think he coud have done without the dirt, I mean it doesn't really serve much of a purpose. I wonder if they will they have English lip-sycing now. That would be well worth buying it again. It's not that bad wothout it. I hate when people cry like a baby when they found out there wasn't going to be English lip-syncing. It's nice to have but it's not necessary.
English lip-syncing would be pretty nice though like you said not that important. I hope there are some actual decent scene changes. The deleted scenes on the DVD are pathetic, just different grunts and like a 3 second clip at a different camera angle. I hope thats not what they mean by changing it. I hope theres some kind of massive new scene, a talking one maybe to add to the story
Yeah it was pretty pathetic, didnt even include the sound effects or music and none were in english obviously. Its like someone just added them at the last minute. The Specials features DVD was pretty bad. Didnt even have music if you changed menu. The Venice Film Festival footage is good though. I like the Tifa-Loz battle with For The Reunion going
Wow, I haven't heard that name in a while, most people call him Red XIII. But yeah more lines from him would be great. His English voice was one of the voices I liked a lot. And he had what? One line?

Hey I liked the scene change in the Anceint forest. Yazoo went rambo instead of shooting at cloud on the falling tree.
Yeah, RedXIII only had one line and I loved his voice too.

I see only 2 reasons for this. I- SE wants to make as much money on it as possible or II- they are perfectionist and want to get rid of the little mistakes and add more little details which were missed before or both.
I would have preferred when SE had waited a little longer with the release to finish it. I'll certainty watch the complete version but it better be worth it!
