I dont know. I think that by having 4, square might be playing a very tactical game. We can attach ourselves to 4 characters instead of having more to attempt to attach with. This way, IF the tragedy befalls them, then obviously it'll affect the player more. Plus, the story is about the bonds of the 4 of them, so its pointless having 1 or 2 more playable characters that have nothing to do with the journey of these 4. I understand they may incorporate more playable characters in, however, I would be perfectly happy just having the 4 characters as playable.

Well I do believe they might be on the party..however they might just be going alongside him..just that..maybe not even as party members..that's judt in my opinion though

i agree, i think the will fight with A I and the fight options that u select in the main menu.
I always thought that FFVS13 would have a small party.Maybe my mind is telling me it`s this game is going to have a small party because it`s an action-rpg like Kingdom Hearts,where you had a party of 3-4 memebers.I`m hoping to see more party members for VS13 though.
With the theme being "bonds" I kind of doubt that we'll see a huge parade of characters to swap between. I'd be annoyed if they didn't make it into the combat system though. If they're carrying weapons, they should be able to use them >_>;

In Ultraman, the Japanese army also had weapons, they still couldn't get anything done though
I just want to be able to use my full party cast at once. Like you were able to do in the older games.
I would love that to be an option. I think it would make us more in tune with the characters and would make those 'bonds' stronger between the characters and the players.

I can't stand having to switch out characters. It just bothers me T_T I'd actually prefer to see less usable characters so I can just concentrate on a few. The grinds get so long and boring when you have ten usable characters and only two slots to put them in alongside your main character... ~_~ It also means I'm forced to switch out characters I like for characters I hate if I want to keep them all decently high. I think I'd just have more fun if I was given characters and enough slots to use them as I wanted.
I think maybe only three, cuz seeing as they're so advanced and all they might need a geek to manage their moniez and stuff. And drive them. In other words, the glasses guy will be their unplayable bitch.
Just a thought. He's the only one who doesn't look ready for combat.
