I'm sorry. Versus looks REALLY GOOD, so don't get me wrong at all in this oncoming tangent, but seriously? Looking at this new information and Nomuras fondness for pretty-boys and such, who else gets the feeling Nomura is a bit repressed?
Versus so far is shaping up to be an all male party of close "friends" who seem to be waaaaay into each other. The only antagonist-type person we've seen so far is a horrible mean FEMALE with a cool sword and I've already seen two headlocks.
The last time I saw this much suppressed homosexuality I was at a frat party.
Nomuras always had this thing for under-the-surface man-on-man loving, from Squall and Seifers marking each other with thier gunblades (the two most phallic weapons ever created) to Crisis Core's four way man-love fest (seriously, what?) and Weiss and Nero's breathy love. I'm expecting yaoi fanpeoples to explode in lust over Versus. but Nomura is so obviously repressed as he won't ever make a gay/bisexual relationship in any of his games, just under currents of man loving.
Oh yeah and he's friends with Gackt.
I'm saying this whole thing mainly in jest, but my point does stand. Nomura just needs to have sex with a guy, get it out of his system and then stop pumping an endless supply of ridiculously pretty boys (who all have super-fun-close-times) into his games.

I didn't say it was bad, just that its obviously the signs of someone repressed. I'm a writer and if I constantly churned out breathy 'friendship' tales between good looking guys I think they'd be a problem there too.
This is the first time Nomura has ever done anything like this. We don't even know if this is the full cast-list. Believe it or not, guys can actually be good friends without having sex.
Yes i do know that, I have plenty of male AND female friends I've never had sex with. I'm physically close with some too so its not that. I just see all the phallic imagery and the fact that almost all of them are so pretty and all the weird bonding they do as signs of repressed homosexuality. Maybe thats just me!
I don't find a thing wrong with the cast thus far. O_o

your basing this on like 4 screen shots....and come on Final Fantasy guys have always been pretty, from slightly pretty to very pretty, its not going to change. This is basically like saying Yuna Rikku and Pain are lesbos... stop over thinking obvious relationships...

How do figure that? Not every guy likes being around women in their teens, y'know.
I really don't see anything wrong with switching up the generic 3-4 female and male characters staple. Also, you have to take into mind that the entire cast of useable/main characters hasn't even been presented yet. It's a bit too early to start screaming homosexual at one of the characters just because he has a posse consisting of only males who like to pal around.

And for you people saying we need a new character designer, I'd like to see you churn out as many character designs as Nomura has to in a year and make them look even a little bit different. At least they all have original hair-styles and clothes; it's alot harder to make facial structures look different than you think.
