Yeah I honestly think they should've released it for the Wii or some other platform, even the PSP. Phone gaming wont go down so well with places out of Japan methinks.
if anything the fact its on mobile does not help... the only thing i really like so far about it, is the main poster of all the caracters... looks really nice... FF7 drawing on that one.
On the news front, Agito probably doesn't get as much news because it isn't such a big project. Out of the 100 billion Yen being spent on the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation I'd be surprised if Agito was eating more than 1/50th of that up .
From Square-Enix's perspective, I can definitely see why they chose the mobile platform. Before Crisis was extremely popular in Japan and I think there were hints that it would reach American shores sometime soon when they find a mobile provider to distribute it. From a foreign fan perspective, it will obviously piss people off because almost no one outside Japan will have a phone capable of playing it. However they can easily make enough profit in Japan only so it's no loss to them.
Like the majority,it`s the platform for Agito.It`s on a mobile.. And in my opinion there is not that much intresting information to get me all excited about it.
Agito~ I can't wait till I can upgrade my Mobile seeing that I'm a Mobile-user.

to tell the truth I've never played any of those mobile games of enix's. It's not that I don't want to its just I'm to lazy to find and download them lol
I mean we hardly here any updates, if any, about Agito...I think versus is one of the more popular games do to fangirlism >_>
I mean how long has it been since we got an update or new info on this game??
You answered your own question. The lack of news is a major aspect stoping people from getting excited. Looking at other games in the Japanese Cellphone market I have full faith that anything is possible and this may be a great title. But with nothing to go on other then a School of Magic and some group of solder children you can't put muchin it.
The cell phone gaming market is massive in Japan, though, so I'm sure that it will probably do well there if it is decent.
Poor Agito. D: No love for Agito. I really want Agito myself, I'm so cheesy and fall easily for the magic school plots and stuff. And the school uniforms~wah. I wish my uniform was like that. ; ;
I agree with most of the people here, and place blame on the marketing/advertising efforts of the company. However, the fact that popularity in mobile games played over there in comparison to say... the US or the UK is different as well. Mobile games are huge in japan, it's kind of like the emulators we have here or how you can download the oldies from the Nintendo wii or Xbox 360.
My personal opinions of this, mobile games are a waste of time/space. I would be highly annoyed for having to switch or pause between games to receive answer calls. Not to mention my phone doesn't even last a day with batteries... I can only imagine the game lasting 3 minutes until my mobile shuts off from insufficient energy. Furthermore, the small screen... I don't care how big the screens get even, it's on a phone, phones shouldn't have to be so sophisticated. Keep the small games on a portable system I say. I mean, I would have bought and played Final Fantasy VII: Before Crisis, but 1) My US mobile won't support it 2) it wasn't available anyways outside of Japan.
The critical mistake SE is making at the moment is trying to make things on a broad variety of media, but fail to realise that this cuts off the fun factor for many audiences. If they would stop putting such games on phones and on portables instead, their revenues would be boosted and the games would have more potential to be fun. Final Fantasy VII: BC and FFXIII: Agito are not exempt from this, and will suffer from the lack of accessibility to the player base in what otherwise could have been solid game products.
