On the main site, we have a timeline of things that have been released from square enix, such as announcements, does anybody think we could compare it to another final fantasy development timeline... just to give us an idea on how far along in development they are, if SE have been developing this since the release of Final Fantasy X, then that means they have so far had 7 years to develop this.
The release date of Final Fantasy X in japan was July 19 2001. So they have had just under 7 years so far. If production changed to ps3 max 3 years after, they have had 4 years. I really dont understand why it is taking them this long. I guess I am just venting because I really want this game now haha, and the lack of updates is driving me crazy. haha
Plus, they began Final Fantasy X in 1999, and finished and release the game in 2001. 2 YEARS??? How aggrivating! lol

I have a feeling they've been vaguely aware of the fact that Versus and FFXIII will be made since 7 years ago. That doesn't mean they necessarily started making the actual games that long ago. I think more serious development is quite recent... It would be awesome to play a game they'd spent 7 years on though. o.o I think because the PS3 can handle more, it will just plain take longer for all games in general, since the standards for game making are now up.
I don't know that a comparison with PS2 games will tell us much ; ; It might be worth a try though.
Yer, i suppose, but didn't it take them 5 years to get FFXII out? I mean.. does it mean they are just taking longer and longer hahaha?

I have no idea about FFXII. I wasn't pleased with the result so much, no matter how long they took T_T I expect to see more shiny things soon from them. They appear to have picked up pace in recent years, considering all the recent coverage?
It seems they only release stuff at these massive events, why not just release stuff to the site? Seems pointless just letting a few thousand people see it. I understand it makes us want it more, but its just cruel sometimes haha. When is the next big event then? Like Playstation premier or something?

I also checked the CLOUD magazine-book official website and could not find a publish date for the second volume, which I was hoping would contain a new trailer wave =/
I did sign up for something on the SE website though that should send me news about games, goods, soundtracks and events. So we'll find out if this is useful at all. >_>;
