I'm actually curious of what kind of battle system they used in this game. How an you handle a lot of swords. They say its a bit like Kingdom hearts but what do you think is the battle system that really fits the game? Personally I don't think it will be the alternate attacks like attack then you get hit.
i think it will be like kh, u will only use one caracter to do battle in real time. u will probobly use the shoulder bottons to select a differnt weapons. not sure about magic yet, we will have to wait and see.
Considering the amount of weapons the 'protagonist' possesses, i'd expect a Kingdom Hearts type of battle system, given the most likely option of switching between each weapon during battle i'd say so.
And considering the Kingdom Hearts Team is working on FFvsXIII, i'd most likely say it would have a similar battle system, but obviously there will be obvious changes because of characters, weapons, etc...
I'm expecting something like Devil May Cry or God of War, as you get stronger you learn new techniques to be issued with button combos and you gain new additions to your weaponry (i.e., he might only start out with one or two swords and more can be gained).
Button combos might be good, but I don't expect an evil learning curve. Final Fantasy games don't usually have one. I think they're going to try to keep it as simple as something this ridiculously complicated can be made. XD Traps, teleportation, huge range of weapons, controlling multiple weapons at once, etc... I wonder if they'll use some kind of auto multi targetting to take some of the load off. Or maybe resort to just making some attacks AoE.
From what I hear, we will have to level up the protagonist, and at the start of the game, he'll only have one sword. If you're motivated to obtain the weapons, you will obtain them. And liked nomura said, when we collect erevething, we can control him like in the trailer... But it seems so complex though =.=... I dont konw if we can control him with so many things like that. Teleportation, mutiple swords? I dont think it will be easy X.x

Yeah, they're going to have to give us a lot of help. KH2 gave a lot of auto-target help, and made the move chains pretty much automatic based on your distance from the target... using tricks like that would make it much easier.
I'm hoping for something like the old days.. I miss FFVII fighting Either like that or FFX. I know it probably won't happen but that's how i liked my FF's

The FFXII system kind of offended me. Far into it, in the shiny water steps temple, I put my gambits on, set down the controller, and they beat the damn bosses without my help. The one time I picked up the controller, the character I was controlling instantly died, the others raised him, I put the controller back down, and they continued to rip the boss to shreds without me. SE, a game that doesn't require a player is called a MOVIE.
That's just me whining though.
I'm pretty sure I've heard that Versus will be KH-style action-based.

lol, ur so right. most of the time ur whaching rather than playing, its like u directing ffxii.
Haha nah, I just didn't like the FFXII fighting style. That game was boring to me =/
Hmm.. KH style? That sounds good. I just hope they don't screw up the game with the fighting
If they try really hard, I think it could be pretty darn awesome. What I wonder is how are they going handle allies? ?
Cause I was not so much impressed with KH ally AI. >_>; And it was okay for Donald and Goofy to be stupid, but I won't be happy if shotgun guy is too busy running into a wall to cover me.
Or will the protagonist, shotgun man, the big guy, etc, have to take turns? Or will they just not be playable, and you'll only play as the protagonist?
I'm expecting something fast paced and hard hitting. Kinda like DMC style only smoother and more flowing. I dunno just as long as is has lots of action.

I want that. XD
I still want to know what people think about allies. Or is this gunna be a one man show like DoC? =.=
I think the PS3 will be able to handle AI's better then the ps2....but since I don't have one I'm not completely sure...sooo...if he does have others helping him fight it'll be more easier to control. Maybe even let you switch characters during battle like in FFXII........ I dunno I'm confusing myself.... ._.
Well one things for sure we'll have more "playing field" the the previous installments...unless FFXIII goes the same way. Cause I think Normura said we could use any part of the land to fight on and enemies wont leave you go when you "exit that zone" (like go through doors and such) That'll defiantly effect combat differently.
