Svanda, how the bloody hell do I get her?

All guides who mentions her says she is the chocobo trainer. However, I've been mashing square in front of her on several occasions, and nothing happens? Do I have to do something first or are the guides wrong?

Well, I'm talking about blitzball here...

and check this guide: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/197344/19103 (ctrl+F) It says Svanda is the chocobo trainer, but I've tried to scout her in every way possible, on both foot and chocobo...

From what I remember, the square is used to scout. If it didn't work, most likely they're lieing

Either that or maybe there's a team level restriction. Probably hideous lies though.

Well, I've scouted her with square (D-uH!), seen her being used by other teams, and several guides I googled mentions her and says she's the chocobo trainer. Noone here's ever gotten her?

I remember the name. I think I scouted her for a certain amount of time until I found a better replacement. I recall having no problems with her. I'm not sure what the issue would be. Often its some little thing you overlook, maybe you aren't at a high enough team level or something. If everything seems to be in order and it doesn't work you can always place the blame on the dreaded game glitch.

Do you clearly remember her as the chocobo trainer? And since she is a free player, there shouldn't be any problem with team level...

Now this was lame: she's standing on the northern edge, close to the middle. She has the same fucking character model...

If you've seen her used by another team, she's probably still on their team and you can't recruit until they drop her. I recruited Svanda and she's a great Blitzer ^-^
