Which is the toughest boss to beat throughout the series? And is there only one way to defeat it, or various strategies?
The hardest I've beaten is Ruby Weapon in FFVII, with KOTR and mime materia. But that wasn't as nerve-wracking as FFVIII Ultima Weapon. Going down there through dozens of random encounters without a save point... and then fighting a super-boss with little chance of success...
Seymour Flux. Everyone else are wimps. No boss ever has caused as much frustration for me than this bastard. Not even optional one's...
Ultima Weapon in VIII was draw for Eden and Renzokuken with Lionheart. And if you were smart enough to equip Siren with Save-find ability, you'd stand a lot better chance, as there was a save-point down there. No wuzz, really. Omega weapon used "Dad's Coming to Turn Off Your Console Blast" my first time, so that can't really count. I got him on my first try...
Yiazmat was just 50M hp...and Dark Aeons...I cheated with Zanmato...

My dad aint stronger then your dad, but he's stronger than your dad! If you struggle with this, then you can burn in hell. Other than that, it should be fine....
Ultimecia for the final story boss and Ruby weapon for the optional bosses. She pissed me off when she kept coming back after I killed her and it didn't help that at the start of the battle only one of my party was properly juntioned. And Ruby is just Ruby...
I can't believe people have trouble with Ultimecia! The simple equation is Squall - Aura - Renzokuken - Lionheart - a few times. She has a total of around 600k hp at max lv (65), a few lionheatrs wil send her to hell with Squall lv100.

Holy War/Hero is also useful, as well as My Final Heaven if you use Zell. Holy War + Aura + Lionheart + 100 Ultimas junctioned to strength makes just about every battle in VIII very easy.

The main problem is that you might not start of with Squall from the start or that your two character might be useless. Plus...Zell's Duel > Squall's Renzokuken.
Every seyoumurs battle was tough ...only because i was new to the rpg genre, however the fight in mt. gagazet still causes me troubles. Same as Adel in ff8 until i learned how to deal with her. Yunalesca's last phase is difficult (mega-death) and that monster...can't remember the name...when you leave the cave in ffx.
Fightinig Ultimecia was stressful...and long *_* and Trema
