"After adamantly insisting that you do not videotape or record the screening in any way or else, the Square Enix private theater showcased numerous titles from the ever-expanding Final Fantasy universe. The first trailer on display was the lead game in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series, Final Fantasy XIII. In English, a narrator explains a corruption that seems to plaguing the land. "Those tainted by the outside were exiled," he explains.
Earlier trailers highlighted Lightning, but the trailer at TGS showed off a number of new characters, environments and creatures. A gunman that seems to have specific mastery over water shoots a crystal, creating a massive water summon. Paths of ice form in the sky, as he rides along on a motorcycle. Certainly, a spectacle to behold. Then a massive African-inspired scene provides a stark contrast to the futuristic environments we've seen of the game so far. Fantastic Mammoth-like beasts walk across a river in a scene that could've been ripped out of a Afrika gone slightly astray. Debuting in this new trailer was a brand new female character that stands, staring at a frozen planet orbiting in the sky. The trailer ends with a proud proclamation "PS3 Only," to silence any doubters.
Once again, we were stunned by the visuals of the trailer, which went beyond the quality of most Hollywood productions. The new dry landscape showcased provides reassurance that the game will not remain stagnant in its visual look.
However, in spite of the incredible excitement generated by the trailer, we were surprised that a different game in the Square Enix theater stole the show."
Wewt! I was getting increasingly speculative as to the loyalties of Enix. This is great news for the PS3 as a whole. Perhaps 'The Last Remnant' will be an ease for 360 fans.
Poor xbot fans, they'll never get to play a great RPG.
What about Lost Odyssey, Cry On, Mass Effect, Infinite Undiscovery, Fable 2 and The Last Remnant?

Seems about right - outside of the FF obsessives no-one could give a damn about trailers for the FFXIII games that contained no new in-game footage and practically no new information on the stories, characters or gameplay.
Biggest amount of bull I read all this morning. Nobody even gave a damn about FF the whole show.
He was asking what they were referring to in the article, smart ass.

Wrong, read the descriptions. New characters were shown in both XIII and Versus.

But have you actually seen those new characters? Do you really know anything significant about them? Anyone who didn't attend the show didn't get to see the trailers, so to the average person there was no real new information.
All we gained was the knowledge that one character was "a girl in a skirt" and another was "a man with a shotgun". I'm sorry, but that is practically worthless to pretty much anyone. They were only shown in the minimal new footage that the trailers contained (which as I said, hardly anyone has seen), and we know next to nothing about how they truly fit into the storyline or about their personalities - all there is is just speculation and fan theories, there is very little absolute fact.
Add to the fact that we still don't know any more significant information about Lightning or FFVersusXIII's main character (why have they still not revealed his name???) than we did this time last year and you can see why to a lot of people TGS was such a disappointment.
Sorry for the rant, it's just I'm really, really losing my patience with Square and the way they choose to present their games to the fans. We probably know more about The Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery than we do about FFXIII and both of those games were only revealed this year. We've been waiting an absolute age for the FNC games and still, they give us nothing.
To get back on topic, Square saying that FFXIII is PS3 only is all well and good, but I wonder if the same applies to Versus? Could that game go multiformat?

I doubt Versus'd go multi platform. It just wouldn't be right, and alot of people know that that would upset all of the rabid FF Fans out there.

Square will obviously have their fans in mind in making a decision to go multi platform but money will probably be above us on the list, sadly. I think though that The Last Remnant was created to kind of soften a blow to 360 gamers - not solely created for that reason , but I think it's multi-platform for that reason.
In various interviews with people, Nomura has remined people that Square has decided to keep XIII and vXIII an exclusive for the PS3. Am I the only one after waliing away from a trailer that at the end said "PS3 ONLY" would believe that its actually only for the PS3
I rather not get into this topic, but id like to remind everyone that as long as their is no definitive bond to a console like for example, a game being published by SCE or MGS (1st party) then the possibility of a game going multi-platform allways exists. Square Enix has adopted the strategy of going for multiple formats much like Capcom, and there have been reports of Talks between Microsoft and Square to bring FFv13 to the 360, i wouldnt be surprised if it happened, and i dont think ayone other than true loyalists would be shocked either.
"we have to release titles across multiple formats. We used to release a title exclusively for one format. I feel it's crucial we release titles for multiple platforms as most of the Western publishers are doing."
Devil may Cry 4 was allways touted as exclusive until it suddenly wasn't, One of the devs or something of RE4 for Gamecube said he would cut his own head off before it went to PS2..and then it did. All im saying is dont get your head all cought up in this stuff, it could happen, dont stake your life on things that are allways possible, and dont waste your time arguing over it.
Everone who's figured out my secret by now are pobably waiting for me to put my word in on this, but I'm not.....f*** it.
Are you trying to tell us you work for Square-Enix or something?
If you are then you're going to have to provide some kind of proof of that. Not that I'm calling you a liar or anything, but you appreciate that people can come onto forums and pretty much make up any nonsense that they like, right?
