Sony denies "No Second hand PS3 games rumour"

There have been many rumors going around saying that you cannot sell your PS3 games because they are registered to your PS3 and cannot be used on another one after inserting it into yours (similar to some PC Games with serial codes).

Sony has denied this and has said that you can sell your PS3 games when you want which means no extra profit to them but money to use when we're done!

I did hear something like this on a PS3 site. Except they were confirming it. Good, i'm releived, not being able to sell old or bad games would really suck. Especially because I tend to buy a lot of games that I end up not liking.

I don't have the heart to sell my games, i even buy bad used ones so people that may not know what they are buying wont' come across them. I'm a savior!

i dont really sell games anyway so this wouldnt matter to me, but my cousin would crazy with protests if that were to happen cause he's the type who doesnt own games, just plays until he beats it, then sells it

Well, I would think they wouldn't do that, because some problems would arise. Mostly being that after a lifetime of playing, most Sony consoles die. DREs, to name a specific example.

If you're still under warranty and they send you a new PS3, I'd hope that Sony's smart enough to store all that information on a chip inside the PS3. And, if you're not under warranty...you're boned.

So, when you get a new PS3 (no doubt there'll be a PSthree) you just transfer that chip right over. I would think that the chip had to be internal...perhaps connecting them somehow would do it.

I never thought they would do that to be honest. It would pis off a lot of gamers who would then proceed to buy a wii, a 360 or this other mystery console thats out next year apparently.
