I'm from GameFAQs, I've seen all kinds of backlash against XIII, it's quite infuriating.
omfg shes a girl lol
is this like X2???
OMFG IS THAT A GUNBLADE IS SHE SQUALLS DAUGHTER?
It bothers me that people are judging this game and character based on a minute and a half trailer. If anything, just judge the graphics and what could be the battle system, not the outlook of the whole game just because of the damn protagonist.
Im not pissed at it at all. It looks like a great game, I love the new battle system. Of course people are going to judge a two minute video. My judgement is that it looks pretty amazing.
Well FFX-2 blantily sucked, there is no opinion. But i believe FF6 was great so it kind of equals out in the female lead department, eh?
The idea of the girl being Squall's daughter is kind of funny. FF8 doesn't have much if any focus on crystals even if the city tunnel she fights in does remind some of Esthar from FF8. Also, what does having a weapon make you related to someone? I mean seriously I don't see weapons as a family only trait or something.
And yeah, a lot of people also argued that VI was good, but wouldn't you know, not a lot of people played it. LOL YUNA SUXD IN X-2 an das it lool.
Personally, if she's in the military, I think she would be a great protagonist. Perhaps it will be in Golden Sun style, where she doesn't say a lot but thinks it.
Squall was basicly in the military and FF8 was meh. But i leave that to opinion.
Golden Sun style? which golden sun are you talking about because the first one doesn't have any main characters in the military but i never started the second so if you're talking about that then I guess I can see where you are coming from.
Yeah, people who make stupid judgements like that are really pissing me off. Everytime I see a new Final Fantasy I approach it as if it was the fist one I saw. That way I only think about what I saw on the new FF and not what I remember about an older FF. If that makes sense to anyone...
Nah. I've been on GameFAQs since 2002. The recent moderators fucking suck, and then GameSpot became merged...that's where the real dumbasses are. Now the boards just suck, if you post, you will get moderated, and if a GSer posts, it's a fucking dumb thread.
LOL THE WEASPONS IN THIS GAME LOOK AWESOME
...We've seen like 2 weapons, a machine gun and a gun-blade.
By Golden Sun style, I meant you control the character, the character barely/never speaks, only when the time is right and there's a dire thing to be said. A female in the military using this system would be really swell.
Although, Sephiroth in a tekken style game would be pretty one-sided. Slash once with your blade for an instant KO, it takes up half the screen anyways.
I used to post on gamfaqs until the Gamespot merge, it just became to hard to get my account information.
I do remember Sephiroth in a fighting game but it had interactive eniroments though it did remind me of tekken. The game was called Ehrgeiz and it also had Tifa, Cloud, Zack, Yuffie, and Vincent. But tekken doesn't have interactive enviroments(other the walls and such) so i get what you're saying.
The "Golden Sun" style you call it reminds me of the Chrono series and well Western RPG's since they rarely have the main character(represents you) speak.
I am really excited about FFXIII, I am impressed with the way the trailer was made and where Square Enix seems to be going with it. I like the mythology idea and how both characters that have been announced seem to have a much deeper personality. It seems that there is far more to them than what meets the eye, as with every FF game. All in all I am thrilled with FFXIII!
