Sneaking through a high security area, Tigersura had found, was surprisingly easy. Having been ordered to find interesting information inside the large complex instead of getting to go home had annoyed him, but he was assured that he would be payed extra. Although the outside was plagued with hundreds of guards, equipped with heat sensitive goggles, to weed out the nano-suits, auto-locking weapons, to catch out the jumpy ones, and high-capacity melee weapons to take out the burly ones, he had managed to get in the most cliché way imaginable. He snuck in with a laundry basket. Diving into the open back of the delivery van as it drove through the main security gate, he was sure it would simply buy him some time. However, the soldiers were none the wiser, preferring to simply check the drivers ID and allow him through. The van backed graciously into a supply depot on the west side of the futuristic complex, and darting out of the van as the guards walked around to speak to, he maneuvered his way through the dark, metallic corridors.
Continuing to creep through the dark hallways, lit only by a slight blue ambiance glowing from the occasional long, thin ceiling lamp, Tigersura tried to find some decent information to take back. He had stumbled upon a small room of filing cabinets, and upon opening one, finding only information regarding the placement of secret embassies within each state of the civilized regions. "Nothing new here," he thought. Gurei Ambassadors trained with the same skills as that of a spy or secret agent had been placed in inconspicuous, monochrome dwellings in major cities for years, and although the official report was they were retired members being treated with class, everyone knew not to trust them.
It was as he was reading this report when suddenly a man entered the room. He was small, with glasses and short, fuzzed brown hair. "Shit" Tigersura muffled. His time was up. This man would surely recognize the fact that he didn't belong here, and try to run off and report him. Reaching slowly to his pistol, the man walked closer to him. He could see that the scientist, as he walked into the white light of the filing room, was smiling. Whatever reason this was for, his happiness wouldn't last long. Just as he was about to draw his gun and "incapacitate" the scientist, he spoke.
"This is great, isn't it? Just fantastic! The break we've been looking for for, god i don't know how long its been!"
Tigersura was taken back by this. Trying not to seem too surprised, he used his FPR training to work in this situation.
"Ah, i wish i knew what you were talking about, but," he moved his left hand towards the scientist "Mark Fithe," the scientist met his handshake with a weary grip "I've been out in the grasslands outside Neguro for a few months now, only just got back to my office. Can't wait to find out what this great discovery is!"
The scientist gazed skeptically. "Well, uh, if you want to find out, go talk to Candice in Central Lab D"
Crap he thought I've got to find my way through more of this metal maze.
"Lab D...heh, wheres, uh, wheres that?"
"You work HERE, where the best discoveries are made, and you don't know where Lab D is?"
"Heh, yea... I uh, work more in paper work. The field work i did was mandatory."
Come on, you might be smart, but you can still buy this bull...
"Right, well, head past the subject quadrangle, take a right at the junction, head down the steps, and its the first lab on the right. Its underground, so you'll have to take the lift from there"
"Alright, cool thanks. Hope to see you some other time"
"Alright then." He reached into a filing cabinet. Taking out a light brown folder, he began to head towards the exit. Quickly drawing his cutlass, Tigersura grabbed the man around the torso and calmly slashed through the mans throat. Throwing the corpse between the wall and a cabinet, he left the room, returning to the dark corridors, and headed towards what he hoped would earn him his pay.
