Bwahahahahahahaha! Oh Jesus was this bad. Heres the basic story from wikipedia, because i couldnt even begin to describe it without laughing-
Rocket Slime is set in the kingdom of Slimenia, a peaceful land populated by friendly slimes. Slimenia is invaded by the Plob (a platypus mafia, with numerous other monsters in tow), who besiege the capital city of Boingburg with the enormous Platypanzer tank. The Plob kidnaps 100 of the town's 101 inhabitants. The player assumes the role of Rocket, the only slime to escape. Rocket must rescue his fellow slimes, foil the Plob's plot, and unearth the Schleiman Tank, a legendary weapon capable of standing up to the Platypanzer. As Rocket rescues the other slimes, they return to Boingburg and begin rebuilding the city. Some can also join him in tank battles, allowing the player to fight with the assistance of a variety of AI allies.
Oh god i lost faith in SE playing this. Biggest waste of R4 space ever.
I dont care if it was a spin off of the main series, it was a waste of a ROM.
This is the first time I ever heard anything bad about this game other then it being extremely short and easy. So I take this with a grain of salt and say you are very bitter for whatever reason.
Rocket Slime isn't exactly the greatest DQ game, they should just hurry up and release DQ Monsters Joker in english (I think it's coming out at the end of the year in the US).
DQIX should be good, and they're also re-releasing DQIV, V and VI for the DS, so there are plenty of decent games coming out for DQ fans.

I'm really looking forward to the DQV remake/re-release - I played a bit of the game on a SNES emulator and it was really good, the characters were great and the storyline was excellent - it was about a family and spanned 3 generations. The player character is born at the beginning, grows up over the course of the adventure, gets married and has children...the story covers something like a 20 year period and is truly epic.
I actually enjoyed Rocket Slime you guys. Although it doesn't appeal to alot of the other Dragon Quest fans and is nothing like the mainline of DQ games, it is an enjoyable game. I thought this was a fun, quirky way to enjoy a RPG with a character we usually fight. The robot battles were fun and fast paced, and the exploration aspect was cool, rounding up all your townsfolk.
Like Desi, this is the first time I've heard bad remarks about this title, since this was enjoyed by many. Rocket Slime reminded me of those kid titles I played on the SNES and Genesis.
