The resources of the name"オリヴェイラ" came from Japanese websites
In another thread which has been locked
my friend said that he saw the name オリヴェイラ or Oriveira from a Chinese forums
but it's not the resources
the info first came out in some Japanese forums or blogs
Wow, good find. Sadly they dont increase the liability of the information because they are no different than forums like this one. Merely users gossiping asking if what they heard was true. Hence it still doesnt solve our problem. We dont know if its valid!! =D
Uh, I believe this came up before and I believe it came up to be false. I can't remember what happened to the thread so I'm guessing it really did end up locked or something along those lines.
Also, Blank is probably sleeping. She needs her sleep, she does too much translating for us =_= Be sure to thank her next time you see her.

it's still unknow whether they are true
But I think it's more reliable from the Japanese websites than the Chinese websites
Firstly, next time you people need me, send me a PM! I miss stuff on the forums all the time and would have happily translated this sooner. ^__^ I think the second response is the only interesting one.
First source translation:
06/15 1:33 SilverSnow: Is it true that FF Versus 13's protagonist's name is Oriveira?
She just wants to know, too. XD The actual website no longer contains the post, seems. It's kind of like a shoutbox, that source.
The second source is our dear new Affiliate Kanae's blog page. An entry on how Shonen Jump published an article on Yuffie appearing in Crisis Core. XD The mention of "Oriveira" on this page is in a comment left by a user with the same name, SilverSnow, asking Miss Kanae saying: "There is a rumor that the FF Versus 13 Protagonist's name is Oriveira, but is it true?"
Kanae responds: "Thanks for leaving a comment. Oriveira.... The Versus 13 protagonist's name has yet to be officially announced. I heard that according to Nomura, in the Jump Festa and Square Enix Party trailer, the protagonist's name is on the radio, but the volume was too low to hear the radio clearly. It is possible that there was a person present who heard "Oriveira" in the trailer, but... there is nothing I can do to confirm it, I am sorry. I am anxiously awaiting an official announcement in a magazine or such.
SilverSnow responds simply thanking her.
The third source has died by now ._. It was also a "shout box" type source. The part written here doesn't make a claim as to whether or not it's true. I think it roughly says something like "Has it been determined that the protagonist's name is Oriveira? I found an article that says 'No.'"
Unfortunately, because Japanese is weird and stupid, I think that word for "No" can also be used for "Yes." =.=; It's a really vague word. In any case, it has no article attached, so I can't read the article.
It seems like none of the sources are claiming to have heard for themselves the word "Orveira."
It could be the japanese transliteration of another name. To me it kinda looks like the name "Olivia" she was a character from Hamlet. It could also be "Oliver" but I don't think it's either. And I don't think this is his name either.

It's not. Those would be spelled differently~~
But I don't know how I would change Oriveira to an English spelling... Orbeira? Not even.. the Ri sound should stay because it would be Ru if it was meant to be a quiet vowel ~_~ I don't know, but I think we're safe from the "Oriveira" name. XD
